The photo of George Best at Park View Road (during a Charlton testimonial) went for around £80 at the auction night. I had it mounted and framed with details of the match he played in.

I've got permission from the photographer this morning to reproduce more for our fundraising. The only other copy is in the exec lounge.

There won't be time for me to get them printed, framed etc so I was thinking about selling 10x8 prints via ebay and email orders/paypal.

How much do you think i should sell for? It's a rare photo and one we could get Man Utd, NI, Charlton and Welling fans all interested in. I was thinking about £9.99, or lower??

After ebay/paypal/printing/post costs i would donate all to the club.

Sample pic here: http://www.barnehurst.com/george_best.shtml

You can scan it and sell the electronic copy then people can print it and frame it etc
I remember the time he never turned up and Rod Stewart replaced him i think although it would have been around 30 years ago.

Would make a lot of sense to start doing them again. Or have matches just featuring ex pros, which they also used to do.

These Welling legend games are good but for a decent crowd to turn up they need to play a showbiz x1, ex premier league x1 or help for heroes.

If you do it half gate for charity of visiting team, half for club (or bexley council charity/good causes which could include the club) then its an earner and great publicity. If you get the right celeb team down you will have stars turn up and if thats the case you can advertise it and get bodies there.

Nice one.

Depends on how many you are allowed to produce.  If it is unlimited then I think £9.99 is a good price and advertise it to the world!

I'm not sure that the last 3 legends games against Charlton Vets bear out your claim for a decent crowd JgFc.  A decent crowd surely has to be around the 500 mark and all of these games fell woefully short of that figure.

My first game at PVR was in 1994 on the eve of the cup final when Man U beat Chelsea 4-0 and David Ellery became top of my hit lsit.

It was Charlton vets v Chelsea vets and I was attracted by the advert saying Osgood, Webb, Hollins etc would be there. Sadly on the day none of them showed - best we had was Graham Wilkins - brother of Ray - who I had never forgiven for scoring a last minute og at home to West Ham to give them a 1 nil win.

Oh happy days -- not.

I might refrain from putting on ebay for now. I think it's best if i got them framed and mounted with details about the game and perhaps the club shop could sell them for £30-40?

Just an electronic version or a 10x8 print could re-appear on ebay within minutes. Also photos don't really go for that much but with match info it should sell to local Welling and Charlton fans. I'll possibly test a framed version via ebay.

This won't be in time for the 14 day deadline but more long term.

Philip Don did the first two Reading games and Graham Poll was the ref at Orient.
