It might be an idea to put the entry up to £12 and the programme up to £2.50 this should bring in 6 or 700 a match. Maybe have a bucket in the club shop where people can throw in loose change if they want.
This way we can keep the great squad we have without GREAT change to everyone.
Thoughts??
(its either that or lose 1k a week or cut the budget, what would people prefer?)

Ive given up asking for players to accept wage cuts as i think theyve been through enough and the fact they ran through brick walls and played with the lurgy tells me they arent here for the money and are playing for the badge and the fans.
Putting up prices seems a way to get to the end of the season giving us time to look at other revenue streams, or possibly an investor but it seems every investor that wants the club hasnt got the money and wants to get in on the cheap and profit from us at a later date.

We need new ideas and new investment from new people. We need to attract new fans and supporters of club events. We need to run more events and different events to attract people and money who perhaps don't even like the football that much.
As mentioned so often we need too improve the bar, toilets, remove queue's, don't run out of things, etc.
We can't just rely constantly on the same old dipping into their pockets. There isn't a bottomless pit of money from those core people. I'm sure the 42 who saved us would go banana's if they were rewarded with an increased entry fee next time they arrive at PVR.
God forbid we go up, we'd be a laughing stock. We'd clear 1512 most weeks and would never cope and would lose so much money through our own stupidity and poor planning
kev i think commercially bringing in a grand a week extra is beyond us as we stand so we either cut budget or pay a quid more to the end of the season to keep the squad.

If you put up ticket prices then less people will come to games, which is counter productive. The way things are going though, we might have to increase the cost of entry.
I think it might lead to less people through the door too, to be honest. A mate if mine doesn't come annoys because, and I quote, i don't like paying £10 for non league football".
So we could lose the casual fan with an increase. Plus I already don't like having to break a tenner with it being £11 now!!
I'm not clever enough to contribute to this list, but I do remember when Matron wanted to raise money for our ward (so she said).
She reviewed things like her gas and electricity supplier, bought a new cheap microwave and sold us pies and pasties instead of giving us our meals for free. She put a darts board in the communial area and started a team which entered a league which although we lost every match there was money spent over the make shift bar area.
Once the money was raised she then spent it on a plasma for herself rather than the ward.
Putting an increase on admission may bring money in, but may also put some others off (the 80 -20 rule may have to be factored in for projections). I don't know much, but assuming there is a large percentage of season ticket holders (who would not be affected) what would the increase be after tax?
Applying the same principle to an increase in match day programmes. Would there be a charge from the printers for alterations?
The good thing about this suggestion is that I assume it is quick to bring in.
You have to accept that if you cut the budget players will leave as they can earn more elsewhere. Therefore the team may not play to the levels we see at the moment and may fall down the table. This will stop people coming through the gate if we are not playing the same standard of football.
Personally I would put admission up by a quid, it will get a few moans initially but will soon be accepted as part of the admission price. We might be able to offset this by not getting people to pay extra for a seat in the stands.

Sounds rather a good idea although can see a few moans from those who have already splashed out on a season ticket for the stand. It would also save a few pounds as the club would no longer need to employ people to take the extra £1. Not every club in the league charge to sit, Am sure I didn't pay extra at Staines, Weston or at Lewes (last season couldn't make today).
We could try a scheme the POSH used - Have New Fan Days- basically they had 750 free tickets supplied by the club and then posted leaflets to collect the tickets - the incentive then if the come keep the ticket stub and come back the following game they get in for half price . they had the biggest gate of the season that day.
We could do our version If barrie agrees
We print up a 1,000 free ( special community tickets per game for remainder of the season) (ideally with a sponsor name who covers the tickets printing cost), then we post them through letter boxes in set areas for each game, ( a sponsor in return has their name on the ticket and associated with a community project in 1000 households.)
The ticket would be two in one - the first part get you in for free the second get you in for £5 valid for the next home game only.
If we have a strategy of target set wards - of welling. falconwood - blackfen bexleyheath - etc and post the tickets through the door - locals may recognize a face or two from their neighbourhood and are more likely to come back if they know someone.
Also by staggering areas for different games you have returned faces and new faces - plus regulars no price increases but increased revenue from the returning supporters you also limit the chance of the same people getting the free tickets.
This would work on several fronts.
1 - ? Generate additional gate funds - with 50% from new fans per game - regular new income? 2 - they see the team play well - by the time this took momentum - if nothings else they would come back at least home play off match -could be a mega gate if new from all the areas targeted and regulars attended together and paying full price. 3 - get the club engaging in the with the local community and businesses potentially. 4 - may spend in the shop 6 - increase gates for predictable low attendance games 7 - programme sales etc
Hard work maybe initially to set up - need a dedicated team of posties and someone to design and printing of tickets.
It would not cost club any lost revenue except the price of printing if no sponsor willing - but should make that back from 50% return ticket sales ?
excellent . We simply have to smash the community with info and offers as has been said. A few have suggested this. Hopefully the sa can make it a goer. Community must be the focus. Loick did a lot for orient in community ask him for some ideas.

Good idea Morph. That`s how most of us got started.....isn`t it . I came along to one game and was hooked. Well done morph. ideas....ideas.more of them... Money making schemes...more of them...........its the way forward. Every penny. fiver .tenner counts
It just makes so much sense. How many people do you know have asked you how Welling are getting on these day, or say something like "I've never been but always thought about it"?
Well, what better incentive for a neutral / new fan to come along? I started coming after attending pre season friendlies against 'bigger' clubs as a kid and stuck by the Wings to this day.
I am sure this is the sort of thing that will be discussed after the game Saturday with the new SA. I think as long as it is organised properly ie certain people volunteering for certain areas/roads/shops etc this can be done but will need the SA to agree with Barrie
Matt/Russ - one for the agenda Saturday
Plus if I may again - Sky TV - I think Barry behind the bar said at the last meeting that last time we got a quote for Sky TV, cost was £250 per month. Is that still valid ? Has anyone any connections with Sky to obtain a quote ? This is where I believe we can make the greatest impact for the rest of the season especially if this is linked to a drive to increase attendances.
I think its more than that Lou, we should explore if erith having it makes it cheaper or maybe free for us, IE if a club had two dishes or multi room surely thats what we would have here, its the same address isnt it? So we may get a discount on the package

I am busy at work and other commitments this week. but will try and work on the idea in detail before Saturday, It was an idea that I was toying with but did not really want discuss until I had researched the idea properly first.
however as the original topic was initially about price increases vs budget cuts - I stepped in with the idea.

I'm pretty sure ground sharers require separate licenses for Sky. This was one of the factors behind Ashford (Kent) terminating the groundshare agreement with Maidstone before they went out of business. It might be worth checking whether Sky offer a match by match subscription for small users such as yourselves.
