Far be it from me to mug off someone but a club with a press officer... cant even get the score right or the players names right... As for only one member of the press there (Kentonline..) who wrote this tosh then?

Magpies into bottom three
5:24pm Sat 19th Feb 11

Maidenhead United slipped into the Conference South relegation zone after a 2-0 setback at Welling United.

The hosts who moved into a play-off place on the back of this result scored a goal in each half to condemn the Magpies to their 13th defeat of the season.

Lewis Cumbers opened the scoring after 29 minutes, and then Loui Fazakerley secured the points with an 88th minute effort.

The Magpies are next in action on Tuesday at home to ninth-placed Woking.

Maidenhead Advertiser.... Where you there? Why bother

I'm not sure that a club official should make comments like that and if he was the press officer why was he not in the 'press box'!

As for the neutral groundhopper, could he sit back and watch his team play with an official like that in charge?

The Maidenhead Advertiser write their own reports shortly after the final whistle. I'm sure they will correct their clanger when someone goes to approve the outstanding comment which asks what happened to the missing goal.

The official Maidenhead match report appears here ; -

John, do they get the details from The Maidenhead Press Officer before writing their reports, obviously they cannot make it up can they?

They usually have a reporter at the home games but I'm not sure what they do for away games. I can't understand how they made such a clanger as the result with the scorers' surnames was on the BBC website before they filed their report. Football Web Pages also shows your player's first name incorrectly so perhaps there's a clue, and they have been known to show the wrong score occasionally.

They were out and out thugs - no other term comes close.  When we outplayed them, which was the majority of the time, they resulted in their thuggish tactics.
When we played them at their own game, we had players booked.
We deserved the three points, no doubt about that.  I just worry that because of the embargo, injuries, suspensions etc, we might struggle.
Jamie and the rest of the team / management have performed a minor miracle this season and boy, will it be difficult to vote for the player of the season - can we vote for all of them?

As an aside, the lino on the old stand side was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike - he continually did an Arsene Wenger.  As for the chicken livered ref, he bottled it.  He should have sent off a few of their players for their thuggishness?
Their number 10, Max Wall, or whatever his name is, continually pushed, shoved and elbowed AA and went unpunished.
As for Leon Solomon - as Matthew Panting shouted, he was far better than that when he was with us and I agree with him.

We will overcome this and let's hope justice takes it's course and Maidenhead go play in the Ryman where they belong.

We could do with getting through V Thamesmead and slot it in and get a few technical one match bans.... if we work it out right.. Nudge Nudge... when we have a few on 4 bookings get them all booked so that the Next round is their ban game... It can be done and if the conference want to carry on bending us over... lets play the rules to our advantage. Will take a bit of common sense like kicking the ball away or delaying at set pieces no need to do silly tackles and get sent off. That way we will have no bans for league games...

Couldn't agree more mate, but I think the Thamesmead game will be fielded by our Academy side. Why would Jamie risk our first team - common knowledge and sense?

We need results in the League and no more injuries / suspensions to sustain our postion in the play-off arena.

Even so, it should be a good game and hopefully progress further.

I think the kids can beat them they were the better team for first 30 v whitstable. Absolutely agree that no first teamers should play on Tuesday, just hope we nick it and can use it to our advantage.

That's the blog of the aforementioned Steve Jinman.

JgFc Maidenhead Advertiser report now shows the correct score.
