How fitting that the GK howler came with the sound of The Flumps theme tune in the background. Some of those refereeing decisions still amazed second time around, especially the awsard of the late free kick to Chelmsford when the foul was on Anthony Acheampong as he cleared. Modeste's antics would not go amiss at Braintree!!
I see City gave their Man of Match to Rainford, did Daisy and Clarkey not completely dominate him, i cant remember Rainford getting a touch. I think Chaaban was the ONLY Claret who can hold his head up picking his wages up. The rest were shocking.

Did the elbow on Pires really go unpunished? Terrible. Ref looked very poor and how he gave that foul against Anthony late on is beyond me. Mark, you are right about Modeste - his diving wasn't at all convincing though, so the ref giving all those free kicks was ridiculous.
I asked lots of our fans after the game was i seeing things or was the ref just giving them everything and letting them do what they wanted, to a man they all couldnt believe how one sided the ref was. Moo we got a free kick for that, how he never at least booked their guy for a charging at Loick that ended with a thumping elbow... well only the ref could possibly comment.

If that had happened in the Premiership, that player would be punished retrospectively for the elbow. Doesn't seem to happen for leagues below the Premier / Championship, though.

In fairness, when a MotM is named at Welling it is nearly always a home team player regardless of the result. Rainford produced little but he covered a lot of ground and was trying to get his team going so when there was no true star performer for them he was as good a choice as any.

There aren't enough hours in the day to deal retrospectively with all the elbows and other forms of physical assault that go on at all levels of football below the Championship. Would be great if all these incidents were properly dealt with but they won't be. Now referees could actually do their job, which would make things much easier for all concerned.

How ironic that the "Match Matchball (sic) sponsors" were "The Friends and Family of the City goalkeeper Carl Pentney"
That sniper in the crowd must of been Ex S.A.S. He managed to hit their number 11 with every shot. What a marksman. I haven`t seen shooting like that anywhere before. No wonder their pitch was bobbley. It`s full of divets caused by their 11`s butt.
If a fan called their goalkeeper a c bomb or a nescafe tanker... they would probably be thrown out. For their Stewards to say they never saw it, is a joke. the fact that several of the home fans have said they saw it suggests Mr Wenger was at Melbourne Park.

I Caused uproar at Hornchurch when we played there in the FA Cup. We did the radio and Uncle Urchin asked me who the man of the match should be.. I said Bodkin who was playing for us, he agreed and told them to announce it, Gee whizz... their fans (and also Colin McBride their manager, whos friends had sponsored the game) all went mad in the bar as to why an oppo player was given man of match lol.

Maybe the sniper wasn't that good and his misses caused some of the divots!
