Clarkey must be close for man of the match tonight, he was quite good.

I wonder what Woking must be thinking?

Certainly no arguments about Clarke being MOM.  He was brilliant.  But Acheampong ran him close - absolutely superb defending.

It was a good performance after going a goal down. The penalty and sending off at the end of the first half were nailed on in my opinion.

We then controlled the second half until just after the third goal, when we got a bit too relaxed and invited Eastleigh to attack us; credit to them, they went for it with a couple of attacking substitutions, and Whitehouse had to make a good save, plus a free header was put wide. Once they scored their second, it seemed to wake us up and we were the better team again. We had several more chances, but I'm really not sure that our second penalty was one. From where I was sitting, it looked like Loick checked where the defender was, slowed and changed direction so that he ran right in front of the Eastleigh defender, and then went over easily (but I didn't have the benefit of the angle to be able to see whether the defender pulled Loick back). I shouldn't complain, though, as it got us the goal our play deserved! And Loick did have a good game - some real quality passes to his fellow attackers.

The ref had good and bad moments during the match. When I saw the ref and linos warming up before the match, my initial thought was that they were our academy players as they were so young. I've seen worse refs this season, but this one did look out of his depth at times.

Enjoyed the banter with the Eastleigh manager / coach. Well done!

Spot on Greendale. Acheampong was brilliant tonight. He had made himself first choice at centre back. Can't argue with Clarkey getting MOM though

The ref was the only one at the ground that thought it was a penalty. None of their players claimed it and neither did their supporter(s). To get a booking for it was ridiculous.

To be fair though I think most of his decisions after the penalty incident were correct although he was far too lenient with them.

Fantastic performance all round. Well done to all.

Think we can get Clarkeys yellow overturned?, especially if we send it in in High Definition zoom in and slow it down. Terrible decision and could have cost us the win as it was at 0-0.

Ref let them make about 15 fouls in first half, spoke to them loads of times and no bookings till the red card. Thought ref was way out of his depth. I hope the ref sees the video and rescinds the yellow card.

This is the penalty he gave against clarkey. Words fail me. They really do, he never even consulted the lino.

As for highlights i might stay up and do them as am busy all day tomorrow and doing a game tomorrow night then not around thursday or friday and am at woking Saturday.

That is a truly awful decision by the ref. I didn't get a good enough look at it real-time to figure out exactly what happened; I had no idea why the penalty was given. The ref wasn't too far away from it and, if he didn't have a clear view, he should have consulted the lino or not given the penalty at all. Good job that didn't affect the result, otherwise I'd be seething.

Pires is really being effective consistently lately and if he does that then he hurts teams, he had a spell were he went quiet but then got going again and some of his passing was excellent.
With players like Coyle, Faz and Dolby on the bench you know that they are itching to get back in and the boys in the shirts are really performing to keep them on the bench.

Pugh was everywhere tonight and really lively.

Every game I see makes it more difficult to vote for a player of the month let alone player of the season. Well done once again to the whole team and management.

Highlights will be up today sometime, if i get the chance to upload.

Ive watched them back and to be fair to the ref lol, none of the penalties given are penalties. Clarkey headed it, Pugh was brought down outside the box and Loick went down easily after getting infront of the defender(not that thats a bad thing). So if you give 3 penalties and none are, you havent had a very good game imho.

I haven't been able to go for a while now (I'm going saturday though against Joking ) but I have been thrilled with the results and from watching the highlights you can see they've been no fluke. We've arguably got the most difficult run-in out of all the play off chasing teams, ie playing the teams around us, and we're rising to the challenge. It makes me so proud. Keep it up boys!

As for that ref's decision.....appalling. The referee has to be 100% certain that it was handball, and even from the real time replay shot from the other end of the ground, you can't even mistake that header for a handball. Could you imagine we lose Clarke between now and the end of the season because of yellow cards accumulated?

JGFC, email that video to the League AND the Ref! They can't deny that it was a wrong call from that evidence!

Thought our first one was a pen but will wait to see the video. However it was a professional foul (and hence a red card) which was the one decision he did get right!! Didn't have a clear view of the challenge on Pires but nice to see us get the benefit of a decision. Having seen the one given against us on the video that was just ridiculous. Nobody on either team (nor the assistant facing the play) saw anything and now we know why?! That yellow card must be rescinded.

Credit to our lads for fighting back from that decision and clearly the incident on half time was the turning point. Top marks to Clarkey for another sterling performance - for those Andy Ford fans out there.......just think if he had stayed at PVR much longer then we would probably would have lost Clarkey last season.......

Onwards to the next big challenge at Kingfield. I hope we get a good turnout of away fans to cheer the lads on.

There were no real appeals from anyone for their penalty - players, supporters. Surely the lino's got a better view of that incident than the ref had?

Eastleigh's Scholesesque tackling was their downfall. Can't quite see how they managed to put 4 past Woking last weekend (a fact not lost on the Cards' forum).

I'm not sure yellow cards can be rescinded at any level.

All of which takes us nicely to Saturday - it could well be the match of the season.

Wouldn't argue with Clarkey as MOM and Acheampong has been a real find, but thought Loick Pires did a great job for the team last night.

Tom Jordan one of the best centre backs in this League and thought Loick gave him an uncomfortable night and was one of the keys to our win.

Also wanted to mention their manager Ian Baird who was a disgrace in the second half telling Dave Lodge to 'shut up you f****** fat c***' in the second half Lodgey miscued kicking the ball on and then had the temerity to stick up for himself when their bench started mouthing off. Unfortunately no official was near otherwise he would have been down the tunnel.

A complete lack of class from a team who I guarantee won't be in the play-offs

Unfortunately yellow cards can't be recinded. The pen for us in the 2nd half, was right by it. There was contact, you could hear the contact, stonewall penalty.

Great win, great performance, great team!

Spoke to Clarke after the game, says ball hit him in the face, video also shows that, however it also show left arm up and I can only presume that from the refs angle he thinks it hand ball?

After giving away a penalty for a deliberate header? Are you sure?
