Looking at the league table we are 4th on 71 points.

Braintree are top on 80 points.

We had the 5 points deduted and we cant argue with that, rules is rules.

Never the less we would but for an administrative error, be on 76 points.

My point is, its a resonable target to finish on a total points that would have seen us champions but for that deduction.

This team has proved its self as good as and better than other teams, and has the chance for promotion and maybe with a moral victory as champions.

I have no doubt the management team and players are well aware of this and will use it as an incentive to finish as strong as possible.

Once again, let us as supporters show how we regard our team by supporting loudly and with true passion.

So far we have been entertained with quality football that football league teams would do well to equal.

The run in games will be games to remember and hopefully the play-off games will give our team the finish we all deserve.

So come on lads, for these final games lets be loud and let all opposition know we are Welling United and proud.

ALL THE WAY.....COME ON YOU WINGS.

All very true, but a few players have mentioned at away games that they would rather finish MORE than 5 points off of the top. Knowing you would have been champions but for money issues would be a negative on a team very positive at the moment. Lets get in those play-offs first and foremost, and then win them.

Mathmatically as things stand 80 points is the target figure for play off place, this will reduce for every point Dover drops as the max point of 12 point in the remaining games for them is 79 points, we could do 79 points but we need to have a greater goal difference than Dover which is currently plus 7 in our favour.

So as things stand Brantree have at least got a play off slot and are now playing for the title - they need to win one more game to prevent us winning the league out right and need potentionally 89 points to win the league.

Should we win all our remaining games that would put us on 83, and Braintree on 89 should they win their other games bar against us, if this bears out the 5 points would have took us close but would miss out by a point. Having said that the extra points in the bags would have put pressure on the over teams around us and they may have slipped up elsewhere.

Dovers remaining fixtures

Sat 16th Apr 11            A    Dochester

Fri 22nd   Apr  11          H   Basingstoke

Mon 25th Apr  11          A   Dartford

Sat 30th April 11           H    St Albans

Agreed, and 6 points will do it anyhow because so many of the other clubs up there are playing each other and they cant all win. Eastleigh losing last night does us a massive favour admittedly.

You are right Riverstown, maybe Ive got to keep calm and as you say wait for each game as it comes along.

Got to say though this is the most exiting time for ages.

This has been happening anyway for the last several weeks eg. Eastleigh last night.

Yes 1 game at a time :)

However Sladie is correct. I have done a worse case senario, IE. Premier League relegation everyone is winning, the maximum with all the team below us winning all games including against the higher teams, leaves us needing 9 pts (3 wins),
but that is IF Dover wins all 4 etc. Every point they drop is good for us. Dartford could do us a favour with a result against La Dover.

I have been saving my money just in case we make the play offs :) The Wife and new born baby understand it's a must that I go :)
