It was the 2 that punched Clarke earlier - Thurrock could have had at least a couple sent off today.

A couple of people have said that the penalty was given for an off the ball swipe by one of our players. If true, that is such a stupid thing to do in your own box.
Having said that, if the ref had got things right earlier in the half, we would have had a penalty for a foul on Pires, and Thurrock would have had at least one other player sent off.
I still can't get over the ref missing the 2's punch to Clarke's face. It was right in front of me and the ref was really close to the incident, and the ball was there at the time - what else could he have been looking at to miss that??

And to cap it all, Chelmsford won, so we're only one point ahead of them, the sixth placed team.

I think the penalty was given for shirt pulling although nobody appealed for it.

I thought the ref was having a good game up until he booked Clarke for putting his face in the way of a head butt. After that he completely lost the plot.

There was an assessor there today so hopefully he'll be relegated to Sunday League stuff in future.
