The squad should do a lap of honour whatever happens on Saturday! They've performed miracles this season, with plenty of things holding them back (5 point deduction, transfer embargo, idiot referees and show pony linesmen) . I've had some good seasons supporting the Wings, in particular in the 80's and the last few seasons, but this season is the most I've enjoyed watching them play and I'm proud of them :D

Missing out on the palyoffs will be extremely disappointing but we could easily have been out of business by last Christmas and yet here we are still in contention - trying to take something positive from this end of season slump!

It aint over yet. You could see how much some of them wanted it today, unfortunately some started with no confidence and we gave them silly goals. Daisy was running after balls when they went out of play. We need to win and hope the others slip up. Its not over lets do our bit.

Well at least if we don't make the playoffs, we won't have to play against that violent bunch of hoofers Braintree again!

At half time at the Basingstoke game we'll be waiting for the most eagerly awaited set of scores all season. I wonder if the person that does the anouncements will mention some full time scores after the game.

To be fair to them they played football today, few iffy tackles and they stayed down late in the game but they were not as bad as they were the game at PVR. Just shows they dont have to play silly buggers, they were better than us until second half when we had a go and showed more passion. Weve just not been at the races last 3 games, you can say oh the 5 points off , but lets be serious here, beat Thurrock OR St Albas and we are in the play offs more than likely. Now we need to win and hope one of them screw up which may happen.

I hope the gaffer stays and players stay, then i will remember the season as one of the best ever.

Whatever happens, I think that we should all be proud of the team and management this season. They have performed minor miracles under very difficult circumstances and all deserve awards.

The supporters have been fantastic too and hopefully will encourage others to join in the fun.

There has been much well deserved praise on this forum for the efforts of the management and players this season but I would like to add some praise for the hardcore support.  Once again today there was a very good turnout of Wings fans for an away game and although we may be halfway down the table for home attendances, I suspect only around three or four clubs in the league have taken more fans to away games.

It is now doubtful that we'll make the play offs so another season in BSBS beckons.  I hope that the management team and the bulk of the squad will still be around next season to have another real tilt at promotion hopefully without all of the distractions there have been this time.  If so, I am sure that the excellent support will continue particularly away from home.  I wonder how many will make it to Truro.

Let's hope that Ebbsfleet will go all out for the win on Saturday because if they finish third, they will have the home game in the second leg! They can't rely on holding on for a draw as Woking could nick a winner!

Ebbsfleet reckon they are resting players according to one of our players, We may be hoping that Hampton beat Chelmo and they are a bogie team for them.

Granted they played more football yesterday than in the previous 180 minutes we've got neckache watching them but the dirty tricks, dark arts and persistent dissent were all still very much in evidence. Two examples: 1. After the foul on Faz at the end of the first half they were berating the ref because he awarded us a corner - even when the decision goes their way they can't help themselves. 2. When we rightly had the 'goal' disallowed the centre half grabbed the ball, hid it behind his back and walked 40 yards up the pitch before dropping it, all to waste some time and slow the game down Their style (if you can call it that) is why I refused to applaud as they ran onto the pitch and one of the reasons why our team should never have clapped them onto the pitch. The other, more important, reason is that it deferred superiority to them - we were still clapping them 25 minutes later at 2-0 down. Can you imagine Martin Johnson doing that? He wouldn't even move to the other side of the halfway line - he stamped his and his team's authority on the situation.
