We are in Court again on Wednesday and we could in theory be wound up. The club came to the supporters with the begging bowl out again and now it has all gone quiet. Do we know if the club has raised the money? Will their be a club on Thursday? Disappointing that the calls for more transparacy has not been listened to - leaving the feeling that we are only given information when they want something.
If anything the transparency has become worse. Before you just had the club and the fans. Now you have the club, the WUSA and the fans. Now there is another level of hierarchy who know more than us 'commoners'. Surely the club can't be in that bad of a shape if the last official update to the 'regular' fans we had was two weeks or so ago? More desperate pleas for help would have been made had we been in the dire straits again?
Not only to support the work they are doing to help the Club and the Manager, but to get your voice heard and have a vote.
Please dont get a strop because there is a supporters association where people care passionately and are trying to improve things and communicate with the club. PS remember its that level of hierarchy that have bailed out the clubat the latest meeting with Money. The "commoners" are welcome to join those in WUSA and help and have your say.
Any season ticket holder should join and any passionate Welling fan should join. Free country and all that but dont cry if the WUSA get to hear of things first and dont forget to thank them for raising money to help the club stay in business.

I fully agree that everyone should join WUSA if they want a say in how the club runs. However I don't think that the club should only communicate with WUSA and that WUSA performs its PR role. There is a danger that if the club only communicate with WUSA then we get a closed shop and alienate lots of supporters - a complaint that has been made in the past.
Any football club needs to communicate to all its supporters about latest news - from Man Utd to St Albans - you don't have to be a member to find out what is happening. There will be lots of people who pay their money who will not be WUSA members and they are entitled to some up to date information.
I agree with that, but maintain for a club of our size, every member that joins WUSA will make it and the club stronger, The WUSA are pressing for changes so make their voice stronger and get yours heard. The club dont have a PR department so if they are going to communicate it will be with people they are engaging with.
Not rocket science. They can acheive more with us behind them.

Only the WUSA members should have a voice in how the club is run, and how money is spent.
Everyone should be given updates on the running of the club they support, whether it be die-hard or casual supporter.
Before someone takes this the wrong way, I agree with what the WUSA are doing and that they should take over as much of the running of the club as is possible given the chance. But as someone that attends 99% of games home and away, and works voluntarily at the club for the odd 15mins here and there, but who cant attend WUSA meetings due to working patterns, should I not know if we have the funds in place to clear this debt ??
WDUPTC I know ... but I dont believe what Im told anymore.
Kev - you can remove the word 'anymore' from your last sentence.....
However Tom is correct. The more members the WUSA has then the bigger voice it carries and the more clout it can bring to negotiations. I would urge all Welling supporters (part time or full time) to join the organisation for the coming season.

and I will do ... but for the time being it would be nice to know something, as usual.
Honestly, I dont know why we bother asking all these retorical questions, gets us nowhere. Just so frustrating.

Whats the answer in that case ??
Whether a WUSA member or not, everyone should be entitled to know whether the club has paid the bill. I speak as a WUSA member and firm believer of WUSA's objectives.
Yes I totally agree BUT I am fed up with us being made a laughing stock on other message boards when speculation comes out.......thats why I think lets keep it private......it really isnt very difficult to join up

I don't care what a few trolls say but I do agree in the saying "Don't wash your dirty linen in public".

Totally agree, no update so far, although no doubt we will find out in a day is a bit of a shot in the foot.
Whilst I agree with the concept of WUSA there may be a number of people eg lenders who are not members yet who may feel a little alienated. Many may have the view that having put their hands in their pockets to bail the club once they may be held to ransom to have to pay to get further info.
True thats not the idea of a supporters club but some info would solve any misonceptions.
Despite all the bravado of the club saying they would be more transparent and going to press to state this I see nothing that has changed my view of the way the club is run. You could argue that nothing will happen until the new constitution but that seems to have missed the deadline
Give then club have been on time with HMRC since the start of the year and also have reduced soft debts by a substantial 5 figure fee during the season it does seem we are a lot more stable. Given WUSA's continuing hard work, the clubs word that they will shape up commercially and the fact the players have decided to give it another go next season we do seem to be getting our **** in order as Stafford would say.
Now all we need is confirmation of a few more players signing and a few friendlies sorted and we can look forward to seeing Daisy and co work their magic next season.
Its great that we start 2011-12 upto date with HMRC and no doubt in players mind when Daisy is negotiating.
I do know the club has a special event planned in a couple of months that will hopefully get to the community and local businesses where they can "champion" what theyve acheived off the pitch in the last 12 months and show they are a club worth supporting on the pitch and commercially.
Things are looking up but cant rest on laurels and need to keep raising money and paying HMRC on time EVERY TIME.
