Updates drying up it seems, no Cup news with Draw or Adrians views, team news or injury news. Saturdays news is very small and seems James wasnt there it was updated Monday and dated Saturday. Hope it improves soon. How about a Weekly column from Pennock or uploading the programme notes as some other sites do?
I too am disappointed with the official site. Having taken time to develop the site it got off to a flying start but sadly that has not been maintained. Information can still obtained from other sites/local press before it is published on the official site. I am hoping that the situation will improve or we will again be seeing postings which question the Club's attitude to supporters.
I believe that it is better that the site gets the process of publishing hot off of the press news releases on in respect comings, goings, loans, current injury situation etc. before it develops new pages such as a weekly Managers column.
What also concerns me is that responses to emails seeking information via the Contact Us page appears to be taking an inordinate period of time if my experience is anything to go by. I made an enquiry about the Meet the Manager night last week and am still awaiting a response. How long does it take to email back saying "On" or "Off"? I am aware that the site now has the information but having raised a question surely I deserve the courtesy of a response.
With all due respect to Gary Mc-P who overcommitted himself, it feels a bit like last years effort which fell flat on its face.

I recieved a response to my email submission 13 minutes after my posting above.
James confirmed that he believed the Meet the Manager night is still on this Friday.
He also apologised for the delay in responding which was due to technical problems which meant that he could not reply or update the website on Sunday/Monday.
The site is now back up again now.

How conveniant, Technical problems? The site has been up all the time, so the server was fine. 13 minutes? Wow!
It just seems that the site has already entered a degenerating state. Not good enough as it is one of the only non league sites where it is paid for i would assume.
I too am disappointed with the Official Site, could anyone tell me if the email address is for the actual club?
Emails not being answered for days on end is very poor, sadly inkeeping with the website.
I'm afraid I can't make head or tail of what you have posted ollycafc but I get the drift that you believe all criticism equates to being negative. I hate to disillusion you but that isn't the case.
My remarks about the official website were intended as constructive criticism and I trust that James took my posting in that vein. If something which started off so well starts to flag do we just accept it or do we make those responsible aware of concerns about the service they are providing?
I think my message was clear. There were 2 elements, firstly that I am of the view that things like a Managers column shouldn't be considered until the basic news service (which I am sure is what the majority of fans visit the site to get) is running smoothly and secondly that emails should be responded to promptly.

Ollie i agree in part with Bruno and Gary. It does need improving, hopefully James will update it regularly and have some decent content. What i did say is it is up to the Club to get their money's worth out of it and we should cut James a bit of slack as its obviously a big job for him baring in mind 2 years ago he had a site like WellingFollowers and then a Templated site WellingOnline. I believe this is his first crack at proper HTML and scripts and it looks ok. I agree with Bruno that if it starts to falter early it is not a good sign.
Hopefully James will have the time to keep on top of it with a bit of help from his helper. It looks a lot better than Gary McHP's effort and that was sponsored and maintained by I.T Experts, thats one nil up to James!
