Agreed. Who cares what the exact crowd was. Do Charlton get some of the money?

I heard the same Mr X however some league clubs ask for shared gate or expenses such as cost of transportation.

Arrived late, had been working...Was lucky to get to PVR at all.

I thought both sides treated game as pre-season training, sensible, biggest crowd for ages, great for us money wise.

Saw Steve our volunteer pot man, had a chat catching up etc.

Sean my mate aka fat cabbie is on his hols in Turkey but will see him and his son at the Margate game I hope, work, wife, and golf permitting.

Knocked a pint of Guinness over a friendly Charlton fan at half time...

Was Billy no mates for the second half surronded by friendly female Charlton fans...not a bad thing.

Went in the bar after, saw Lee and Faz and thanked them for re signing.

Saw an old work mate had a nice chat.

Deano walked in and said some players are still away on holiday etc but all is good.

Saw Tom and he will have a copy of the DVD for me at the Margate game.

Saw Jamie with his young son dressed in cute little gunners kit, chip off the old block if ever I saw one.

Spoke briefly with Jamies wife to confirm her father is Don Almond who I know, and grew up with back in Peckham, Dons younger brother Robert is the same Robert Almond who played in the 1982 world cup finals and I think captained for New Zealand against Brazil no less.We used to kick about round the garage square on the estate along Brenchly Gardens so I can say I played against and with an international footballer!!!!

Small world or what.

Happy Days the football season starts again. We just love it.
