Rain predicted for the whole of the week I'm afraid.

It's supposed to be quite windy today too.

rested first half team except acheampong. Greenhaugh did well second half. Stella also. Brief highlights late tonight no titles as no lineups given by margate and we had about 8 trialists. Ft 2-0 to margate.

An underwhelming display, to be charitable.  A good day to stay in the pub.  I see Bod has signed for Margate.  One enthusiastic  Margate supporter thought they outplayed us from start to finish............ yawn, and ................yawn.  No game for Jack Parkinson who was at the ground .....hmmmmmmm.

Parky played 3 games in 4 days last week, no point running him into the ground. Thought it was an ok run out, Margate were getting stuck in and were up for it, we were a bit sloppy first half hour, thought we got better. You have to have a look at the kids and trialists in pre season. Main thing is weve improved fitness and given the youngsters some pitch time, mission accomplished.

Bod was lively first 20 minutes.

Just re-lived our fantastic times of last season thanks to you Tom.

Heres hoping for a similar season, but this time with the right finish.

Think our Keeper in second half was Turkish Youth International Deniz Mehmet from West Ham, thought he was decent. Not confirmed it was him but looks like him. Bradshaw could well come on in the reserves if he is retained, under some decent coaching from Stacey and him getting to know the defence. Whitehouse hopefully will be back for Gills game.

Definitely get a benefit from games like today having a look at players in a match situation. Really impressed with Ben in second half he seems to have developed under Inters coaches and looks lethal when going forward, if he stays and develops an understanding with the forwards he could destroy teams.

Correct about 2nd half gk. First half 7 was Liam Burgess/

I agree, Ben showed some quality touches, I see him center mid going forward, and could be useful in other mid field possisions as cover.A natural ball player with quick tidy feet, with our good players around him, he would be a super addition to our squad.

Who was the right back second half?

Thought Ben's ethic was spot on too when he played second half, he was busy and looking for the ball and reading the game. Plenty of little flicks and touches which mostly came off, if you are going to play sexy football you need to make sure the flicks and touches arent for show and he proved they werent.

 Further to

There were several players I did'nt recognise, Thought Johnson looked ok at left full back today. The pitch was slippy on the surface and playing along the deck was difficult, never the less these games are part of pre-season training, and a better way of assessing potential.

I see there is a game on Wednesday 20th July against Cray Valley advertised on there web-site.

Can someone confirm? Please dont say WDYPTC I need to sort a few things tomorrow so I can hopfully make it.

Thanks in advance.

Cray Valley?? thats prob a reserve or academy friendly, hopefully we get some new on the official site of the friendlies soon. Or news that the official site is still going. I think we sending a team to Beckenham Town too maybe thats academy/reserves aswell.
