Here we go then, the season is here and weve kept most of the squad who proved they were superb last season and knuckled down. Daisy has added some players, including higher league and some youngsters.

Hopefully we will get some updates up through the game.

As for team selection i havent got a clue and Jamie gets it right nearly all of the time so line up and formation i trust him to get it right.

Would be nice to get off to a good start, Staines looked ok in parts for the game at their place and they will be bang up for the first game of the season. We will aswell, so lets hope we get off to a good start and get 3 points.

Prediction, 3-1 to us and a Clarkey penalty to get us off and running.

Should get three points tomorrow but whatever happens it is a long season so hopefully with our squad we can push for the playoffs this year again and not get robbed at the last hurdle like last season

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, take a weeks holiday and all sorts of things kick off so having to work tomorrow. Looking forward to a season where you don't have to learn a whole new team again, trying not to get too optimistic - would be quite happy to see us 9 points clear by Christmas.

The official site confirms Andy Sambrook is out for 2-3 weeks and Faz will be playing right back. Whilst we will thenhave two attacking full backs with Mines a Stella on the other side, do we not have any other cover in this position?

I'm sure Loui will do a good job at right back, but it does seem that defence is the area where we have the least quality cover.  Anthony's played right back for us before, so could presumably do so again, with Parkinson moving to centre back.

If Chris Davis is indeed on dual registration with Chatham then hes another right back.

I seem to remember when Parkinson first joined us he played at right-back a bit, as well as the left of three centre-backs, so he's obviously versatile enough to do a good job there if Loui got injured

Loui can play right back for 2 or 3 games absolutely no problem and Sammy will be back to challenge for the 2 shirt, Daisy may even keep Loui there if it goes well. We could end up with Parky dropping in and 2 wingbacks flying up the pitch if it goes well. Could be a good thing if it goes well.

Sorry, we need a decent right-back ... Sambrook is always injured. Good player, great commitment, but no way he will play more than 75% of games. Need to sign a right-back asap, or a decent loan signing from Charlton or the Gills.

Ref is up to the usual standard for this league - he's missing so much.

Nil nil half time.
Ref poor. Made a couple of good decisions early on but completely lost it after that. He's missing lots of fouls, but also seeing fouls that aren't there.
Our shape doesn't look quite right at the moment. Parkinson and Day playing too close together in the middle, and Healy seems to be switching sides every five minutes. We've put a few good moves together, but we're not at our best. I'm sure Jamie will sort it out at half time.

I can't figure out if Staines are a better side than last season, or whether we were just well below bar. They certainly played the officials better than us.

Referee was very poor, but we didn't help ourselves. After we scored, we were too deep and Staines's goal was coming, as they'd had a couple of good chances just before their equaliser.

Parkinson got subbed before he got himself sent off. He got booked (not sure why) during the incident when the Staines player should have walked, and then made a rash challenge just after.

Opening matches of the season tend not to be representative of the season as a whole so I'm sure we'll improve significantly. We looked good in patches, but poor in others.

Loui did well at right back.

Disappointing start to the season - poor officials, poor game and poor Wings performance with far too many players off form.  Only Faz and Daisy can be happy with the way they played today.

Two difficult away games next week , so significant improvement needed.

I thought Faz was our man of the match today, and I think we could see him playing in that position all season. Him and Ben Martin aside I thought we were poor, and Parkinson was lucky not to be sent off after the challenge shortly after his booking.
Not a great start to the season, I'm sure we'll improve though

Very Very poor referee
In fact possibly the worst I have seen

Faz was outstanding at right back - problem being though we loose shape when he plays there as he is missed on the wing
Anthony also has improved immensly since he first joined

Joe looked a bit out of his depth at times and good decision to sub him for Pires

We will see worse teams than Staines this season - they looked well up for it despite lack of talent - certainly a very physical team and the ref let them get away with it

Agree with what's been said. I think Staines looked ok - in a sense that they weren't technically the greatest team but played to their strengths and there will be a lot worse than them this season.

Faz was MOM at right back, Daisy seems to have a knack for moving players into new positions!

Officials were just poor, every season I hope they will have improved, every season I'm disappointed.

Great to finally be back to football though!

I for one knew it would be a difficult and low scoring game. The first game of the season can be a little flat.

I too felt Louis had a good game, Mr Whitehouse for me was good too. The important thing for me was that we didn't lose and did not pick up any injuries (he says fingers crossed).

Football is back......Hooray!

Faz played really well, my Man of match today... but also thought Parky had a good second half. Ref was quite simply the worst ref i have ever seen. The linesmen were even worse. We werent great first half but thought we played ok for first half hour in second half.

Jamie has agreed to video interviews this season, will upload that shortly and highlights late tonight. Staines bought so many fouls by squealing its untrue. Fair play to them for playing a weak ref. Whitehouse made two very good saves and just got caught out when the ball seemed to hang.

Draw was a fair result we didn't do enough to win the game. We will improve for this first competitive game of that I'm sure. We didn't lose and are points tally is up and running onwards and upwards! Bang on!

I think early season rustiness played its part. Stand outs were Faz and Acheampong. But with Faz playing (very well) at right back we looked very lopped sided in midfield and it was hard to tell if we were playing 4-4-2 and who was playing in which position. Neither team were great and i think there were only 4 shots betweem them the whole game. 2 of them came from our goal!

We were poor, but nothing to be too worried about. Let's kick on.

Ref - clown.

Blatant handball by one of their defenders in the box and then we see a two handed push to the floor go unpunished. Couldn't quite see for sure if their player punched Jack after pulling him to the floor but if he did, red card all day long.

And that tannoy, it needs sorting!

Personally I'd go 4-4-2 away at Havant with Faz at right-back, and either Camacho at right-midfield, or put Cumbers there and Attwood up front

Parky and Faz the picks for me thought Acheampong improved after a shaky start.
