A vast improvement from Saturday all round. Some players still not firing on all cylinders but we looked a lot better throughout the team and a lot more of a threat going forward. Penalty miss was a factor but we had other chances ourselves that might have gone in on another day. Havant are widely regarded as a good play off bet so three points there is a great return. And once again evidence of a very strong team spirit - the best we have had at Welling for many years.

One small gripe - we need to do something about the discipline. Too many yellow cards last night (most of them justified) and we really don't need too many players getting suspended. I believe five yellows is a 1 game ban and then 10 becomes a two game ban and we have a few players who might well fall foul of this rule.

I want to temper that a little...for years we have just let the ref and the opposition boss games......we are now (and last season) showing some passion and really care about the game and the results///along with that will come some bookings.

Most I can put up with.....bookings for verblas are unforgivable and so long as we can keep the red card count at 0 then we will be fine

All other teams 'play' the referee and we should too......is it unsportsmanlike???.....yes probably - more a case of if you cant beat em..........

Last night was one of those games that can set a season up or not and we got the result....lets not think Farnborough will be easy - it wont (I dont think there will be too many easy games in this league) - jamie will have them set up again for a battle

Lets get as many there as possible

A great win that will breed confidence in the team.

Plus we won with an injured keeper in goal, he was limping all game and we had no subkeeper. Also we won without the injured Jamie Day.

Well done lads.

Also as far as im concerned Whitehouse is still well in credit this season, hes made 3 or 4 top class saves in 2 games. He never stops coaching them and encouraging them, even when going forward, his agility and reactions when saving shots have been very good.

COPYRIGHT DAVE HAINES

Looks over line but deceptive angle and cant see if whole ball over line. I cant see how the lino can give it and it was he that signalled goal to the ref, hes guessed and i also felt their penalty was a dive and theatrical. Photo is by Dave Haines, Havant Photographer.

Having said that Havant played really well at times and gave us problems but their shooting was at times as bad as Emile Heskey.
