Thought the crowd was poor on Saturday. I know people are on holiday but considering we kept most of our players it should have been better than it was.
Wonder what the club has done this summer to attract new fans or even entice old fans back?
Welcome to the forum Dave... Not bad 3 posts and 2 of them about Welling and both negative. Correct me if im wrong... I look forward to some positive posts not putting down Welling.
Surely not another of our friends from down the road? I would like to bet on you being our "friend" Wings63 aka mr Dartford In The Know.
I may be wrong... but doubt it.

same old problems - but without going into the usual problems we would need a decent cup run against a couple of league teams to get people through the gate and then hopefully a few of them would stick with us
I thought it looked less than 500, so an att of 500 given that alot of local teams where at home and it is holiday season was not too bad, plus the extra £1 that has been added on to the admission fee may have an effect.
J, I bet you **** yourself when you see I had replied didnt ya!!!

To be fair, loads of clubs have increased attendance charge but we havent put up the programme like most have this season. Also didnt chelmo put it up midway through last season when vat went up?

Your way off the mark Tom.
Just agreeing with GaryH on that one. You can sugar coat it all you want but a crowd of 500 no matter what you think is disappointing. I bet Jamie thinks so too.
With the exception of the Surrey derby at Sutton and Weston's gate, no doubt boosted by the Dartford contingent and perhaps holidaymakers too, most of the crowds in the league were disappointing.
The holiday season must have played a big part in this so I don't think the club will be too concerned unless numbers have not started to improve by mid-September.
I must admit, I thought the figure of 500 was questionable. Don't the season ticket holders get added to the net total to bring it up? Hopefully those that attended spent more on average than last year's per person. Also, I would have thought that the management would have bugeted for attendances below last year's average so not to go over buget. Hopefully attendance figures will improve.

Every year I always wonder if we'll have a big crowd for our opening home game. Every year we don't. A combination of holidays and peole being out of the 'football routine' must be the cause.
Last year we had one of the biggest year on year growths for crowds in the league. No reason why we can't achieve decent crowds again this season.

as the season pushes on and if we are successful it could happen again but this year Charlton struggled and I'm sure we get more fans turning up to us if they aren't doing too well, whereas this year if they look like they are going to go up then maybe we will lose a few fans (no actual facts to back up numbers but if we happen to play on the same day as Charlton at home our crowds always suffer)
again I think a good cup run is what we need in the FA Cup and we are due one as we haven't had one since the Huddersfield run which was 5/6 years ago now
Yep, totally agree with you J - our crowds do seem to increase when Charlton aren't doing so well...but who knows, also coincided with when we were doing well too!
