Will be a VERY Hard game, Hamlet have a young lad up front whos strong and scores for fun called Shelton Frimpong.

Lets hope our boys rise to the challenge and get through a step closer to getting a league team.

Amazingly enough the academy are/were due to play Dulwhich Hamlet on the same day during the afternoon... in what would be basically the same squads of players.

Does anyone know if the academy game has been put off?

Hamlet score for fun and are one place above us in the league.

Entry is £5 for adults, £3 concessions and there will be hot drinks and rolls available in the Wings Bar. A teamsheet will be produced for the match.

Really young Welling team including 16 year olds, mostly first year students from the academy, lost 5-2 AET and were 2-0 up! . Will post some highlights up over the next couple of days. myst gave been about 10 yellow cards plus the red card Welling got late, ref had no control at any time and made some bizarre decisions.

Good goal scored by Frimpong in the highlights. very rough guess of about 70 people there tonight would imagine a lot of parents or people from the clubs so probably never took a bean but good experience for the lads .

Agree with JgFc about ref. Some very strange decisions - he must be a contender for BSBS.

Had to leave early when it was 2 -2 heard crowd was 96

Cheers. Only two players who were in the KSC and LSC squads last season even though some of them were 16 year olds at the time.

Mostly first years Mark , i think Quinny said we only had 2 or 3 second years playing, the keeper who was on the bench in the FA Cup at Bromley is 16. Very young team who did ok but heads dropped when Hamlet were gifted an equaliser, poor decision for penalty after that and our boys lost their discipline and there were a few iffy tackles.

My personal feeling is last year we were stronger (but that could be they were older and more developed and these will be better players than last seasons crop given an extra year...) but i know someone else disagreed, i think these boys are 12-18 months away from a senior cup place but worth having 2 or 3 involved who will benefit from the experience.

The oldest player in the reserve team is 21 i was told last night.

Quinny is the right man for the job and we have to trust him and give them time.

My judgement wasnt far off then. Lets hope these lads have usurped the leaving second years at the end of 2 seasons at Welling. Certainly wouldnt bet against it and will give us a measuremt to judge if we are improving the quality of the Academy players at the end of their 2 seasons. Those that left this season include some fair players who were just short of being good enough for the fringes but i think 1 or 2 will be at that stage in a season or so of mans football, hopefully we are keeping them on our radar.

Should be some highlights posted in about 30-40 minutes, ive left out the red card as i didnt think it to be productive in showing a youngster getting sent off especially in this day and age when it would be all over facebool and youtube by his peers.

The full unedited match will be given to Quinny on DVD this weekend.

Brief Highlights, none of the usual titles as is the case when no tannoy etc..

The young lad i metioned in the preview of the game scored a good goal when we went 1-4-4 towards the end.
