Called up for the England C contingency squad, worry is if he makes it in he would miss the Sailsbury game. Well done to Andy his performances deserve it.

Well done Pugh. He's been brilliant this season and I'm sure he look out of place in the England C set up.

Well done Pughie - fully deserved.

Having said that the club needs to step in here - our game is much more important than some friendly with Gibraltar and, as such, our player should be playing for his club that night.

Indeed.  For some reason I failed to type the word "wouldn't".

So the chances are that he won't be needed?

Well done to Andy for being selected for the contingency squad, he has done extremely well for us and deserves this opportunity. Best of luck Andy.

More proof to all the players, work hard and keep focused and people are taking notice.

Well done Pughie but as Mr S has said if it clashes with one of our First Team games you would hope Pughie chooses to play for us.

seems the England C team these days is an U23 team as their competative fixtures  (Gibaltar is a friendly)  play in  International Challenge Trophy competition whose fixtures starts in February  which is for  U23's.

Quite agree Eric. A cursory glance suggests he is the only player from our league in the squad and that is quite an honour. I reckon one or two other Wings will have caught the selectors' attention as well.

Well done Andy!

Jamie says Pugh should play for England C if called up and not against Salisbury. Think we have to respect the gaffer's wishes as he hasnt done a lot wrong since hes been in charge.

At least we wont be thinking will he or wont he play if selected for England C.

I'm with the manager on this. He cannot pass on the chance to represent his country, as inconvenient as it is to Welling United.

Agreed. For anyone in sport, the chance to represent your country should be the burning desire. Well done to him for getting in, be grand if he can make it in the squad. We know he'd appreciate it, as opposed to the mercenaries playing Sweden tomorrow..
