I do remember the Saturday when the 'Mighty Wings' were in action against Blackburn Rovers at home at Park View Road in the FA Cup. Tickets were sold out in a matter of hours. Me and a couple of mates turned up at the ground on the day and for a tenner each we got in. I won't tell you how, but we did. I have still got the programme somewhere to prove it and the reason why I say that is that programmes are only sold inside the ground. For the record Blackburn won 1-0.

I have seen a fair few matches at Park View Road, not entertaining fair I must admit, but since the days of Nigel Ransom, Phil Handford there hasn't been that 'type' of character to attract me back - but at least I still follow the fortunes of the club.

Welling have also played in the FA Cup at Leyton Orient which I went to. Welling went 1-0 quite early at Brisbane Road, but two late goals saw the O's through to the next round. Almost missed the coach home LOL. Harldy a great distance. Cab through the Blackwall Tunnel between four, would have been like the cost of a bus fair. Not today however. You could probably fly to New York and stay for seven days cheaper than getting a cab through the Blackwall Tunnel.
