Potential banana skin here if we go in thinking it will be easy. Should be a decent gate there, so if youve never been there, get there early to get a seat in the stand,
First time weve had what you could call a favourable draw for ages, need to take advantage of it and bank some noney and hopefully get another good draw or glamour draw in the next round.
Dont think this will be easy and if you think they dont need your support think again, get down to Bayliss Avenue on Saturday and get behind the boys.

Two bob I expect, I would like to win the game of course, but match fitness and some on pitch time for those needing it ready for the run of league games over Xmas is more important I think.
I agree. 4k this round, a bit more next round and then a fair bit the round after and suddenly it matters a lot.
One concern is that if we get through to the new year our game at Weston-super-Mare will have to be arranged and we will end up having to go there for a midweek fixture.
Preliminary Round winners (54) £2,000 First Round Qualifying winners (72) £2,200 Second Round Qualifying winners (36) £3,000 Third Round Qualifying winners (40) £4,000 First Round Proper winners (32) £5,000 Second Round Proper winners (16) £6,000 Third Round Proper winners (8) £7,000 Fourth Round Proper winners (4) £8,000 Semi Final winners (2) £16,000 Final runners-up (1) £25,000 Final winners (1) £50,000
Non League Directory records their record gate (and capacity) as 400. Let's hope we can get the attendance up to somewhere near that figure.
It could be a bit cramped though. Their new stand is not yet ready (January hoped for according to someone on their forum) and only limited seating available behind one goal.
I hope Jamie fields the strongest available team. Anyone needing match practice can now play in the KSC game in midweek. I don't think we should worry about whether the Weston game might get moved to midweek, Being mid January, the weather might cause a postponement anyway.
Excellent point Greendale, i hope we start full strength and then make subs if we get in control. As you say we can play anyone who needs 90 mins and anyone we want to look at from the academy or ressies at Dover if Jamie wants to rest players.
Keep the feel good and confidence going and lets get some money and a little trophy run.

Mead are up for it in no uncertain terms. I understand posters have been put around Thamesmead advertising it as their biggest ever cup draw. Lets get a massive crowd there and get behind the lads.
I emailed Thamesmead about parking and was told their car park is being refurbished. My mate can't walk far and if seats are scarce I guess I'll give it a miss.
would imagine theres enough seats as long as dont leave it to 5 mins before kick off and theres parking outside their ground in road. If you get there by 230 should be ok i think?

Penalty for them I believe. Clarkey missed a penalty but scored on the rebound from an overhead kick-will be interesting to see the highlights for those of us who couldnt make it
I wasnt there so wont comment excessively, but I said months back about conceeding too many goals, and clean sheets. Look at the GD and GA in the league, and two conceeded today, with a strong side, against a much lower league team.
We must must MUST tighten up at the back asap. It'll cost us eventually.
Wasn't a penalty BKK, was a terrible mistake by Thomas though, we're talking Massimo Taibi levels here.
Overall a shocking performance apart from about 20 minutes in the second half when we got our two goals.
Resting Pugh, Healy, Acheampong and Faz (possibly injured, wasn't in the 16) was a terrible decision, as soon as Pugh came on he changed the game.
Thamesmead were a poor, poor side and offered very little but we still couldn't win. This probably comes across as a rant in the heat of the moment, but it was truly dreadful today, very complacent.

Not the best of performances from Welling that I have ever seen. Although in saying that I thought the work rate of Thamesmead was very good. The only thing that stood out for me during the first half was an excellent save by their keeper from a good shot on goal by Pires. Missed the first goal as still getting a cuppa. Different accounts regarding it though, we played a high line and got caught out or that it was clearly off side. Our equalizser came from Andy Pugh who I don't remember being on long before shooting the ball under the keeper's body. Took a deserved lead via Lee Clarke who had his penalty saved and from the rebound scored with an overhead kick. We were the better side during the second half, but conceeded a soft goal right at the death. From my vantage point Jack O failed to make a tackle on the approaching player who struck the ball from the edge of the box. The save was made but the ball then somehow spun up and over the helpless Mr Thomas.
For me, I thought their keeper was man of the match, Made a couple of great saves including the penalty. Difficult to pick one of ours, a bad day at the office but we live to fight another day.
Not good poor first half pugh livened us up interview with Jamie and our two goals up later. Missed their goal as couldn't get round pitch as someone decided to stand there and let people go one way. Will add their equaliser. No full highlights but will be Tuesday. Good goals from pugh and clarkey overhead penalty.

Interview with Jamie should be up in 45 mins, some words on today, tuesday coming and andy pugh back from a trial at a league club last week.
Last 3 goals will be up around 10.15, would have got the goal from kick off in 2nd half if he had waited 3 or 4 seconds or there was room to get people behind the goals.

I know it was dark and my eyes are not what they were but was there really only 273 there today?
i thought about 150, fair play to them they should get a similar gate on tuesday, so they will earn a few bob win or lose, their gaffer deserves a bit of help he works his nuts off and has done for years.
I hope we turn on the style on Tuesday and get a few goals.
