Welling sunk to their fourth defeat of the season with a defeat to fifth placed Sutton united by loosing four goals to three.

It was the hosts who took the lead as a series of defencive errors by Ben Martin allowed Sutton striker Kavanagh to run through the defence and convert the ball past Dan Thomas into the top corner of the goal, but the hosts were ahead for only a matter of seconds as Joe Healy straight from the restart ran through the whole Sutton midfield and defence and slotted the ball past the Sutton United goalkeeper into the path of Welling United number one striker Andy Pugh who couldnt miss and put Welling back on level terms within 32 seconds of going behind. Thirteen minutes gone and the scoreline was already 1-1 but three minutes later that turned into 2-1 back into Sutton's favour as another defence error allowed Beautyman to have miles and miles of space to have as much time needed to prepare for a fireous shot past Thomas yet agin. Sutton retaken the lead.

Yet again Welling hit back in the 25 minute as Luis cumbers ran straight past the defence and was on the left corner of the 6 yard box with the goalkeeper running staight at him but took the chance and expertly nutmegged the goalie to retain Wellings hopes in the 25 minutes. 2-2 the scoreline now.

Both Welling and Sutton had numerous chances but neither could convert until the 73rd minute when who other but Luis Cumbers grabbed his second of the game and Wellings third and for the first time in the game, the visitors were ahead. Luis Cumbers celebrated in the wildest of ways by running over to the Welling fans and the technical term called 'jumping into the crowd' but not completly but still dived into the fans and seconds later was surrounded by dozens of Welling United supporters. From my view the referee showed NO YELLOW CARD for this celebration. Suttons lead lasted for a minute and so did Wellings as Sutton responded almost immedietly. But better than Welling as Sutton didnt just equalise, they took the lead 3 minutes after going behind. Wellings smiles had turned into frowns. The weather showed it as the seventh goal of the game was converted, the weather took a turn for the worse and a turential downpour began but it didnt stop Sutton from holding on to the 3 points. FT Sutton United 4-3 Welling United.
