If we are looking to strengthen at the back what happened to that defender we had from the academy Chris Davis. Isn't he on loan at Chatham - maybe getting him back would help
Looks like the unsettling of the squad due to loanees in and out, injuries and suspensions are causing erratic results. Did McBean or Greenhalgh get a look in today?
The Shadow of course Sean .. sorry, no confusion meant
No prob's Kev, I was out in the cab & never read the thread in full, & if I had I would have seen it was not aimed at Toast.
Saying that I wish he would check his grammer before posting, he is dyslexic & should use his dictionary....& get to the point with his postings - he does tend to jibba jabba.
The jibba jabbing comes from his Mothers side by the way, talk for Englad that lot can
Oh & 'Shadow' - p*ss off & stay on your own site, or are you just longing to be a Wings supporter?

Positives, game time for Faz, Macca found a good opportunity, hes a player that when we get the wide men fit he will find good positions and he will score goals. Ben Greenhalgh clear to play now from Italy and looked lively, may get a start if our leftys are still out. Our effort after half time was clear for all to see, we never gave up and were a better team than the first half team. Poor goals to give away. Our midfield had an off day unusually.
Have to say the ref was so far out of his class its unreal, giving free kicks every time weston asked for one but not blowing for one when any incident took place. Gave them a pen and didnt give us one. I think the ball was in play for 20 minutes in the second half, Weston went down for treatment every chance they had and smashed it out the ground when clearing the ball. Thought Weston were average and a missed chance, but we started poorly and didnt deserve anything really.
Hopefully we will bounce back Tuesday. Thought Parky did well today but then stupidly got booked for dissent (his 10th) and will miss the chelmsford game.
We really miss Healy, Stella and Loick, might get away with one missing, possibly two but all 3 out weakened us a lot.
Interview with Daisy and some highlights tomorrow though shorter than usual as there was precious little to call highlights from either team.

Spot on JGFC i thought Ben looked very livley when coming on and Mc Bean could have scored i missed the 1st goal as was late getting there but although i dont think it was a penalty i still think Sambrook should do better. Parky done well But we need to start picking up points now and make sure we stay in the play offs.
Was very frustrated with Weston fair play to them they have 3 points and good luck but was embarrising to watch them going down injured every 10 mins and kicking the ball as far as possible out of ground.
Onto the next.
Coyw
I assume Oberstellar got injured v Truro (hence being substituted) so it's a little surprising that Jordan Johnson has been loaned out to Thamesmead. Had we had a left sided player playing on the left it may have left the team look slightly less disjointed.

reguarding the post on here about chris davis,i think he is at chatham as a signed player so not on loan from us. the lad who was at the academy charles dunn who we really should have signed , played left back/lleft midfeild was picked up by wycombe wanders and has just been given a 2year pro contract, i think at present on loan at staines town
If the Academy boys last year werent good enough, sadly this years are miles behind those.
We need to forget the academy until next season at the earliest, Quinny has changed a few things for next year and thankfully set up earlier trials so we dont just get the players unwanted from every other trials in july. Its important we attract some of those from the earlier trials and sell them the club and the chance to progress.
Kev dont reply to the anon gutless troll. Hopefully he will be banned as hes boring as ****
Mark, Obo was left out to look after a hamstring yesterday.

Not bothered Shadow, instantly ignore anything you say given you are clearly anti-Welling. Anyhow, I dont listen to all the "ref was poor" type chat as I wasnt there to form my own opinion, and neither were you.
Parkinson should immediately be fined, and stripped of the captaincy. Im sick of it. 10 bookings of which I would guess 7-8 are for mouth. Unacceptable. It will be these bookings that cost us a play-off place, not injuries which cannot be helped. He isnt the only one either.
watched thamesmead vs cheshunt yesterday.sam mott the thamesmead keeper is a class above that standard what with our comings and goings reguarding the keepers, isnt he worth a bid. also saw jordan johson played ok worked hard always tried to use the ball but not sure if blue square football is the right league for him, jury's out for me at the moment

Fined yes, stripped of captaincy no way

Mark, Obo was left out to look after a hamstring yesterday.
Presumably the reason he has been a lot more 'in and out' this season than he was last year, and why he was taken off last week. All the more reason not to loan out the only left sided player not injured or suspended.
Although young and not the finished article at this level, surely he would have been a better option than playing someone clearly uncomfortable in that position.
He needs to channel his passion and will to win in other ways. But to strip him of the captaincy would only have a negative effect on his performances plus I believe he is a great leader.

How can a manager strip someone of the captaincy for an offence he commits so often himself?
There are too many bookings for dissent but stripping someone of the captaincy would not be the answer if he is the best man for the job. We are not privvy to what happens at training or in the changing rooms so cannot know how much influence he has.
Parky has been one of our best players this season and now Pughie has gone / is going, is probably one of the leading players for POTY along with Daisy and Loick. We need to do what other teams do and all get players surrounding the refs rather than letting JP do it and take the bullet for the team. His dissent isnt great but he has played well. Rather have someone play well for 35 matches and miss 2 or 3 through bookings, also if hes injured he plays through it and doesnt sit it out, you have to look at what he brings the team and also how he has put us first many times with injury and people trying to sign him.
Would never strip him of the captaincy, thats ludicrous imho and wouldnt put it past him scoring a goal or two vs havant.

Even more reason to button it ... if he is our player of the season we need him on the field where he can have an effect, not sitting in the stands watching us get beaten. And yes Mark, same applies to Day. I forget who it was, but there was a Premiership manager not long ago that would fine players two weeks wages for a booking for dissent ... more than they fined players red carded. Fouls etc cant always be avoided, mouthing off can be - funny how its the same old players ... never seen Pugh, Cumbers or Sambrook booked for dissent.
I would fine a player more for dissent than I would for a foul or leaving the field of play to go to the toilet, but I would not strip him of the captaincy.
Wasnt a penalty for their second, laughable decision. First one weve give the ball away which is our achilles heel at away games in first half not keeping it and just inviting teams to come at us by giving it away far too cheaply too often.

Worst shout iv ever head, would never strip him of captaincy. If we do that we going to sack Jamie as well then as he is just as bad ???
Also how do you know its 7/8 for dissent im not saying i do but id check your fact 1st because i bet its no were near as many as that. Like JGFC said rather have him missing for 2/3 games then every time he has a slight knock miss games.
You cant compair Pugh , Cumbers to Parky or Jamie there different players. Not saying they should be having a pop at referees but other temas get away with it and some ofnthe decisions we have had against us have been a joke.
Im sure between them they will sort it out ans make sure that it dosnt happen as often anymore.
Further to the above concerns about Captain Jack's disciplinary record, I have contacted the FA regarding his bookings.
The memo I received back was as follows;
1. For the record, Jack Parkinson has only been given 1 booking involving the use of colourful language. The referee explained that he doesn't mind the use of foul words as long as correct grammar is used, and in this case it wasn't.
2. Wiping his nose with his sleeve. The man in black's notes said that it does not set a good example for our younger footballing fans. There is no excuse, he could have put a small packet of tissues in his socks.
3 Wrong choice of body wash. It is expected of all professional footballers to lead the way in fashion and quality products. As referees, we have been instructed to clamp down on this sub-standard use of body wash. Lynx is ok for supporters but Molton Brown or equivalent is a must for footballers.
4. For shouting. Due to an extension of the Health & Safety Executive's new 'noise at work act', the referee's whistle is set to a maximum of 120 decibels and all those on the pitch are not permitted to shout louder than 110. There is no excuse as all playing staff go through a noise test prior to all games. The HSE are also looking at maximising a player's running speed to 10mph. It is hoped that accidents will be reduced.
5 Mistaken identity. The referee's notes read "I saw the attacker going forward towards the Welling goal and was tackled by the two central defenders. One was Jack Parkinson, the other was Anthony Acheampong. Both players have blue eyes, black hair and are over six foot. It was an easy mistake". An appeal was made but an FA committee stood by the booking.
So it seems it was the ref we had at dorchester.... THAT ref.
What i would like to know... is how he can give the penalty.. The linesman who could see Sambrook and their player clearly, didnt flag... the ref who couldnt see Sambrook and had a far worse angle... gave the penalty. Also their 2 went in 2 footed in a tackle , nothing given, then their guy goes through the back of Daisy... right in front of the ref nothing given.
Hes either consistently useless or hates us. How can you give that penalty when the lino sees nothing from the PERFECT angle.
Add Tim Wood to your memory bank and if we get him again give him grief for 90 mins and remind him of the times hes reffed us.
