Pugh is better than Keds technically, Keds was strong and had a great ethic. But remember Robbins scored 29 goals in the conference one year that is diff class to anyone we've ever had. Bartley is the best scorer we've ever had but that was at a level below the conference. Then add in Gary Abbott who scored hundreds for us.

We've had some incredible strikers and Pughie must be up there with any of them, technically i do not believe we've had better and only Abbo could claim to be technically anywhere as good a footballer as Andy. Longevity must count. Inchy, Abbo were here for years.

I would go in this order for legendness

1 God
2 Inchy
3 Abbo
4 Pugh
5 Keds

and ive probably changed 2 and 3 every year or so.

Bit of  a debate on a Friday.

Who was the better striker for Welling?

*I say was, I know Pugh has not actually left yet.

A question I have asked myself recently. Different types of players which makes it difficult. Kedwell had raw power but just for the sure quality of some of his finishing I would go for Andy pugh.

John Bartley - debate over!

In answer to your question I think Pugh is all round a better player.

Hasnt scored goals anywhere, and has had about 20 clubs ... anyone that signs him next season is blind, stupid or desperate.

He must have a great agent as he always finds a club. Slow, not really skillful no eye for goal, what a player!

Why is Menga not being mentioned.

Pugh or Keds playing for Welling only? Has to be Pugh for me.

Keds has gone on to prove he can cut the mustard in League 2 and I see no reaaon why Pugh can't do equally well or better long term.

I despair. How dare you slag off my beloved Lheureux Menga. He excited me every time he came onto the field.........................and I can assure you, that had nothing to do with his football ability.

great topic. Kedwell for me i love his passion and i believe my dear friend cheveton one rubbed his steaming head when he jumped into the crowd away at st albans a few years back on a tuesday night.

Also if we are going to talk about club legends i think you need to consider time speant at club and general interactions with the club as a whole. for me lew watts and glen knight would get in the list of legends over kedwell and pugh.

Hmm the yam yam ex mrs JgFc, spent the whole of one half when we played at Reading saying phwooooooooar every time Knighty went up for a corner. He probably got pulled off at half time.

 In a fight a good big-un always beat a good little-un.

Pugh is a good footballer as well as good striker, a bit more moblie than Danny.

Danny was a good striker for us, and progesses in the game, very effective.

Enjoy watching them both.

I think they could be a good pairing, one day it could happen.

Pughie gets my vote.... just.

What a very good question! I am in no way saying that either of them are in a different league from any of the many strikers that have graced our colours. The information below explores the things that have helped influence their lives off the pitch and have made them the players that they have become.

Education
AP went to Eaton and gained 8 top grade A level results and went on to Cambridge University to obtain an honours degree in Law.
DK when he wasn't bunking off attended Margate Secondary Modern. Whilst here he learnt how to fight, play cards and chat up girls.
Scores: AP 10/10.     DK 7/10

First job
AP had already been head-hunted whilst attending Cambridge and joined the UK's largest company HSBC as a trainee corporate lawyer.
DK was too busy hustling on the pool table to get a job.
Scores: AP 9/10.     DK 6/10

Social Activities
AP is a regular at the Groucho Club, has a membership at Wimbledon tennis club and follows Formula 1 around the World with access into the drivers paddocks.
DK sneeks in through the back door of the pictures with his mates and is often seen in William Hill's having a flutter.
Scores: AP 9/10.    DK 7/10

Food
AP enjoys crispy salmon at one of Gordon Ramsey's restaraunts.
DK is on first name terms at Kebab World where he regularly has a large Donner with chilli sauce but no tomatoes or chilli peppers.
Scores: AP 9/10.    DK 8/10

Music
AP likes nothing better than listening to Strauss on his Bang & Olufsen music system.
DK enjoys plugging his head phones into his iPhone and moving his body to the sound of Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Thin Lizzy.
Scores: AP 1/10.    DK 10/10

Both players score an excellent 38/50. So what can we learn from this?
They are just great!

Kedwell over Pugh for me and just to show the debate isn't over I'll go for Robbins as greatest.

Oi!!! Can you please leave my favourite Lennie Dennis alone please? I remember him doing a good job for us in the last three games of a season to keep us up (just) when we were lowly in the Vauxhall Conference ... however I accept we were lowly because of his performance for the whole of that season!  I seem to remember a few last minute goals at PVR against Farnborough to keep us up???  His idea of the offside trap made me cry sometimes, but I loved him for it!

Pugh or Kedwell: Pugh would win goal of the season every time, Defences would worry more about Kedwell being on the team sheet.  As everyone else is suggesting - I'd love to see them pairing up at some point.

Er I was being serious. Scored plenty of goals in his career. I was thinking about Farnborough when I typed it....

I'll always remember his ultimate winner against Farnborough where he bedded himself in the crowd with his celebration, but Lennie no way near makes my top 10
