The midfield were woeful tonight, nowhere to be seen and I hope that Daisy address's this problem. As for the Tom Daley wannabe thugs, they got what they deserved. We need to toughen up and play the ref as most of the teams do when they come to us. Having said that, a great result for us and well done to the lads for sticking to their guns and getting our just reward. Good to see some youngsters on the bench too. My man of the match goes to Loick - good in the air and frightens the life out of the defence. I hope that Faz's injury isn't too serious and comes back soon, we need him.
I think the ref had a split personality. There were things he did right, booking players for having a go at him and dirty challenges and of course the sending off, then as has been said he would let Havant get away with some unbelievable crap! Not sure if I would want him refereeing one of our matches again. Surprisingly lively crowd last night, despite it being a Tuesday and really cold :)
Thought it was never going to happen last night but full credit to our lads for sticking at it. I actually predicted a missed penalty but well done to Hairy Biker for following it up. I thought Greennhalgh was our MOTM by some distance and his goal topped off a good evening for him.
Disgusted by some of the antics of H & W and good to see that they got their comeuppance in the end. You don't get that many bookings by accident (and there might have been more) and their gamesmanship was something else.
However YET AGAIN we are not playing the officials like other teams do - a point which I made to our captain after the game. I don't like it but I am firmly in the "if you can't beat them then join them" camp.
I didn't have a clear view of the tackle on Faz but, had it been against a Dartford or Chelmsford player for example, the bench, the whole team and Uncle Tom Cobley would have been in the ref's face demanding a red card.....apart from one or two players ours just shrug thier shoulders and accept it. Contrast that to the dismissals of Daisy and Healy which we could have done without.
We need to get smart over the next few weeks and take every possible advantage we can in games.
Less than 400 people there which is very disappointing even with Charlton and Millwall at home and Chelsea on the box.
With those clubs at home and chelsea on box its about par. Havant brought about 5 fans.
You have to go out and pull the fans in. great offer with the half price but you need to get that out to the people whether in flyers in the free press, posters in shops and pubs etc etc.
We also need what ive been banging on about for ever, a mailing list and a sms text list where we can bombard people with offers easily.
We are getting there but a few more things we can do.
Last night was just unfortunate with Charlton at home and chelsea and poorly supported oppo. It wasnt a glamour game to pull any floaters in. You need to go and pull them in.

Get Twitter working and Facebook page would help. Need some sort of data capture method for people coming to the club or visiting website etc.
As for the game thought Ben Greenhalgh was outstanding especially in the second half and that Harry Baker did well in flashes. Delighted we came back and shoved it up Shaun Gale who was full of it until we scored and whinges all the way when it goes wrong. Can't believe he is still in the job.
Referee did ok overall but thought he dropped a brick by not sending off their 9 for his 'tackle' on Fazza. What part of that challenge wasn't uncontrolled as they keep banging on about.
Always great to beat them cos they take it so badly. Would have thought they had got used to losing by now.,

Whilst I would hate our management and players to behave like those at some other clubs, and certainly believe in 'two wrongs don't make a right', I don't like to see the referee 'escorted' off at half time by the opposing teams manager and captain with nobody from Welling around. Someone from Welling should have been near last night, even if it was just to laugh at whatever ridiculous nonsense Gale and Pearce were spouting.
My lad and I are newish Welling fans and Tuesday's match was his first ever evening match under lights. One to remember!
It taught him two lessons in life.
1. Cheats never prosper.
2. It's not over til the final whistle!
He is firmly of the view that Welling never ever lose at home and is becoming something of a lucky charm. You'd all better hope he keeps coming for years to come.
And indeed he is very welcome...good to hear we are getting new fans....its never an easy road supporting Welling but there are plenty of ups to counter the downs
