How Day was sent off i havent a clue, ref thought he would be center of attention and book day then he saw Day walk off and i think he released he had ****ed up, Then he warns Dundas then books him then he should have been booked then he definitely should have had a second yellow after that and then Sutton subbed him,
Interviews with Jamie Day and Jack Parkinson later. Highlights hopefully tomorrow.
We knew what we were instore for when we saw Coggins was the ref, Excellent result and you couldnt tell we had ten men for over half an hour. Good point today, Well done lads. We still had plenty of chances to win and their Keeper deffo their man of the match.
Good turn out from Sutton 30 or 40 behind goal another 20 or 30 in corner and probably another 30 or so round the ground. There were plenty of them in the bar for happy hour too.
And how good was that Curry? Love the food in the happy hours, and 2 quid a go is incredible value.

Nearly scored from counter attack just then, but Greenhalgh scuffed his shot straight at the keeper. Game has livened up now and ref is making some odd decisions.
Full time nil nil. Wasn't expecting that scoreline today. Even second half, which came to life after the sending off. Don't think there'd been a shot of target prior to that. Poor finishing from both sides, either team could have sneaked a winner there.
Seems like results went our way today, so the fact that we got a point makes it a good day. Shame we couldn't exploit the other results by getting a win, though.
Another couple of wins and we'll be pretty much in the play offs. COYW!
Referee was truly appaling today. Even the lino looked embarassed at some of the decisions.
Definate penalty in the first half. I thought at first that the ref was playing the advantage and who knows, maybe he was. Once we didn't score though he should have brought the game back, given a penalty and sent their goalie off.
Jamie's second yellow was farcical and he won the ball fair and square.
He booked Faz for handball when the ball was kicked at him with some force and he couldn't possibly get out of the way yet he allows one of theirs to get away with it.
We've had this odious little ref before and he was just as bad then. Lets hope we never have to put up with him again.
Sutton's goalie kept them in the game with 3 good saves but all in all it was a bit boring.
Not a great game today but with the way the other results went I think both sides would have been very happy with a point. I cannot see either Chelmsford or Dover overhauling us now.
Faz was my MotM today. Only concern is that Daisy will now have a further suspension on top of the one he starts next week.
The game reminded me alot of our home match with Dover. Very trappy and could have swung either way. I think we edged it all in all though and after looking at the other results I think we should view it as a very solid point. Special mention for Holloway that was some tackle with their player through on goal.
Faz was outstanding and is fast becoming my choice for Player of the year.
We are within touching distance of play offs, lets not get complacent and keep it going boys!!!

From my perspective I too thought it was a hard fought match. For me, Sutton started well, tackled strongly and generally got to the ball first. They didn't let us have time on the ball but when they were in possession could not make it count. Their No.8 seemed to have something to prove and if it was not for him being substituted I feel sure that he would have received a second yellow. Strange game where it was difficult for a couple of our players to get going, in particular Mr Baker. Not sure about Daisey's second yellow, he defiantly got the ball but he may have gone in too strong and followed through. The referee and the lino made some very questionable decisions this afternoon and will not be showered with praise for their work today. It took the sending off for us to pick up the tempo, but clear cut chances were at a premium. Craig made a great save when the player with the 'hair' was one on one with him. The match did not reflect the lovely weather but with other results going our way, our play-off chances are starting to look very good. I always welcome ex Welling players and it was nice to see Riv's wearing the Captain's armband. Louis Faz wins my man of the match award, battled throughout and run his socks off.
Agree with a lot of ther above and with Faz being motm. Certainly Craig BB can be handful on his day but his end product was poor today and Faz had him in his pocket for the game today.
We can all bleat about referee's performances and its a difficult job as they will not see everything. All I ask is that they are consistent with their decisions. Daisy's tackle was right in front of me, certainly not two footed but he won the ball and the only argument was a possible studs up. However a silly pull on a Suttons players shirt in the first half could have avoided the first yellow. Again as JGFC has pointed out he walked before any cards were shown. The bigger concern here is that with Daisy already facing a ban for yellow cards, todays sending off could be painful for the play offs if its cumaltive
If you book Faz for a handball then a deliberate handall by their player by the touchline got not a mention. Similarily the Sutton no 8 who had been booked in the first half who then commited two fouls and kicked the ball away got nothing from the referee. Subbed shortly afterwards!
Sour grapes?-well you could look at way but if you are crap be consistenly crap for both teams! and before anyone form Sutton bemons this their coach was sat in the stand in the first half and hardly sung his praises!
I was right in line when Pires went down and it was a stone wall pen.My dad was at the game and is not a Wings fan and he couldn't believe it. If he thinks Loicks dived then book him, but we should still have scored the rebound. How Cracknell missed from a yard out im not sure. As for jamies second yellow he couldn't wait to book him but how else are you meant to tackle a bloke that size who uses his strength to hold people off? If thats a booking then he could have booked 10 others yesterday. Letsa hope we don't get him in the play offs.

I'm not certain but I believe Daisy is due to start a two match ban next Saturday and two more will be added for being sent off yesterday (one for the sending off and one because it was his second red this season). I guess he will now have to fine himself!!
I put about the referee on facebook and a ref friend of mine says that he is a good ref and one for the future! I do hope not. Was embarressingly poor. First impression was that it was a pen and the video confirms it. Why was Dundas not sent off for the challenge on Crackers because it was a potnetial leg breaker and Jamie won the ball with a committed challenge. The fact that Dundas got knock over in the process deosn't make it a foul. That said we weren't strong enough in the first half and only got going when down to ten men. Thought their keeper saved them and Faza was outstanding once again. Amazing to see how he has improved since he first came to us in terms of his consistency and think he is a real favourite with most supporters.
