Go back to start of season and the chelmo 1.2 million in debt stories in the press but their board saying we are adding extra money in wages to make sure we go up as we dont want to be pushed in the north division...
The last sentence says it all. In a league where it is possible for most if not all sides to get results on the day Chelmsford failed to do so and missed out on the play offs. Put simply they weren't good enough.

"But a run of late form from Basingstoke Town wrestled the advantage away from Glenn Pennyfather's side and, ultimately, they fell short."
Basingstoke qualified with 71 points. Last season we failed with 75 points. If you end up with less than 70, you don't deserve to be in the play-offs , regardless of others.
Agree with the above ... for "Basingstoke's late run" read "Chelmsford's poor run" ... they missed out on the play-offs because they werent good enough and last eiight home games, not because someone else had a late surge of victories.
The lack of training facilities: It's a big struggle, particularly in the winter, to get the players anywhere to train because the Melbourne Park stadium is used by athletics clubs until late at night.
Do clubs train on their own pitch? How often do Welling train at PVR?

Athletics is also a summer event - the infield (presumably thats what they want to use - after all they don't need the 100m straight to have a kick-about) would only be used by throwers from about March through to September. Scraping the bottom of the barrel for excuses there.
