I have spoken to Eric today and we have suggested Saturday the 30th June for a Working Party at PVR from 10:00 am.
Their has been a lot of work been carried out already over the last few weeks, with the mainstand being undercoated and repainted by Eric and Barry with help from Danny Kibble, The grandstand wall and the front of the clubhouse is in the proccess of being painted by Pete Rostek, Danny Kibble and I have undercoated the turnstyles tonight for painting over the next few days.
Please note Eric is not around this weekend so the intial request for help on Saturday is now not needed. but help the following Saturday is.
I know it's too late for this summer but now we are a CIC club can the council organise community service down at PVR? For all the odd jobs and painting required over a season it could be an ongoing project between us, the council and local reform services?
Danny K is intending to also be there for 10ish, Pete R, Gary L and myself will be from 1-1:30 onwards we did also put a request for volunteers at the WUSA AGM - I maybe sooner but I will be running around in the morning collecting resources for next weekend.
That is great news.....................I really appreciate your help.
Thanks to Pete R, Roy, Gary L, and Danny K (The bricklayer) for carrying on the good work this week while I was "out of action". It was so pleasing to see what you had done. Brilliant!!!
Laminate flooring, Walls redone, Bar redone (Repositioned in alcove?), Lighting completely redone with plenty of modern lighting. Furnishings replaced.
Would seem to me to be a very big outlay. In the past people have thought about doing it and ive heard murmerings that someone is interested in having the work done.
If it is to be redone then better to do it properly than splash some paint on walls again (Was done last pre season). It needs modernisation not a quick dash with a paintbrush and a cloth.
Maybe a brewery would refurb it in exchange for a few years tie. Maybe the commercial manager could pursue that or get quotes and chase a sponsor for the bar(s).
I believe the WUSA are to be using a large chunk of cash in another area though wasnt at meeting and have heard nothing officially yet of anything from the meeting last week.

PVR is looking great for 12/13 season .. sorry could only do a couple of hours in the morning .. great to see the pitch in excellent condition and the new coat of Red everywhere
I have to agree with Esjay PVR looks the best I have seen in years, Pete, Eric and I were at PVR this morning finishing of from last night and when we finished I stood at my regular spot for a few minutes and looked around to reflect - just an amazing transformation from 2 years ago.
Agreed when we were up there yesterday someone said we should have had a before and after photo from when all the work started just under 12 months ago.
Well done to everyone that have put in the hours to spruce up pvr it looks great.
I am pretty sure there must be plenty of photos on my computer from 2 years ago before we decided to throw out all the dead wood around the ground. When I have the time, this will be something to consider doing.
This job has proved a massive task but we now appear to be winning the battle. Now this transformation has gained momentum I would dearly love to see our supporters clubhouse profile lifted, and also the executive lounge. Both these venues could be made much more appealing if we could raise the cash to carry out some work on them.
Correct me if I am wrong, but would it be possible for WUSA to help fund the refurbishment of the supporters clubhouse, as in the long term, supporters would benefit having a much better environment to enjoy before each game, a clubhouse to be proud of, and future events would attract more pulling power, hence more profits to improve the facilities even further.
My thinking maybe wrong, but I do not see this as an expensive outlay and the returns could be enormous if it is done properly.
WUSA, and the club we all love, would IMO both improve their income over the future years ahead. Give it a thought, and anyone with any other ideas it would be a great help.
Obviously, we all realise if it were possible to build a completely new building, that would be first choice, but we all know this is not an option available to us.
I appreciate your comments and are in agreement with a lot of what you say, but would like to express that many points that you have touched on have already been spoken about by myself with both the club owners, and the commercial manager Paul White.
No one has mentioned "splash some paint on the walls again" and "a quick dash with a paintbrush and a cloth", our discussions have gone way beyond that idea. We all realise the supporters clubroom needs modernising, and a lot of time has been spent already following up leads to achieve this. Quotes have been considered on replacement of furnishings etc, together with many other ideas.
The new Commercial Manager, and myself, have already spent time on some of the suggestions that you mention, and to be perfectly honest between us both we have given up many hours of our time together helping our club to gain more sponsorship etc. It would be unfair to expect anymore from Paul as I can assure you he has worked so hard since he arrived on the scene.
At the end of the day we are all seeking ways to improve our club image, and we need to find a solution, and I do believe this is possible.
Thanks for your comments Tom, and with people like yourself who give so much of their time throughout the season doing a fine job, I have faith that we shall get there eventually.
