Our stand at the Danson Festival is starting to come together now,
We joining up with the Welling United Community Trust and if all goes to plan, we are going to have a sports arena for under 6's, the speedbal game, the shop a "media area" and Danson the Dog.
I will be watching my daughter dancing there on Saturday lunchtime, and will probably wander around with the family afterwards before they go home and leave me to my own devices. I hope to be around on Sunday as well and will be happy to help out if I am around and there is a shortage of people on duty at that time.
On an entirely different note check out Kent chilli farm's stall. Mate of mine runs it and will have plants, sauces and chutneys on sale. On facebook and at kentchillifarm.com.
3 DVDs will be on sale at the Welling United stall.
The season one with all the goals from the league season home and away... every single goal by the Wings, goal of season comp and the season montage and player of the season videos.
The 2 play off semis, whole games on DVD with team line ups graphics interviews after the match with all money for these DVDs going to boost the budget. last year we raised about £400 for the budget.
If we sell out of the semi dvds i will produce more semi dvds for pre season
DVDs are a tenner each coming in a colour sleeve and DVD box.

I do hope as many welling supporters come and visit our stand at the Danson Festival. I would like to thank Andrew for all the hard effort in planning and putting together our presence.
See you all over the weekend
Cheers
Matt
Great first day at Danson Festival our stand is in a really prominent location. The speed test went down a storm, we also had a lot of visitors to the club shop.
We gave out lots of flyers for the upcoming friendlies this created a lot of interest especially with the quality of the games we have.
The day went up another notch when the players came over in the afternoon, they stayed around for 45 minutes and had pictures with everyone involved and had a go at the speed test, in fact Ben Martin was joint top for most the afternoon until a 16 year nicked top spot.
Thanks to Lee Clarke, Ben Martin, Loui Fazakely, Anthony Achemepong, Keirnan Mason Hughes and new chap who I didn't get name.
Also Danson dog was very busy, well done to everyone today and more of the same tomorrow and this should be deemed a success, well done again andy on the work put into this.
It was also great to see so many wings supporters turn out and come and say hello
Cheers

A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time today and supported the welling united stand also a big thank to the players today for their surprise visit, this gesture meant a lot to the supporters today.
I have already spoken to council officials about our 50 year celebration stand next year.

I agree. It was good to hear the announcer say "football clubs with stands here today are Charlton, Millwall and Welling United". Regardless of the finances raised, it's good for the public profile of the club.
Hopefully, the rain will ease off this afternoon and it will be another good day for all concerned.
I think Gary, Danny and Andy deserve a medal , all 3 are at Danson with one car in hock deep mud clearing the stand away. They cant get out of the park and will have to make a few journeys. Was just going to post i think the 3 lads deserve a few drinks from people.
Charlton showed but late morning they put their stuff away and left. Also Jack Parkinson came over and stayed for well over an hour at the Welling stand.

Went over this afternoon with the family, what a fantastic effort today from Andy Morton, Gary Leman, Dean and Adam Shulver and Paul White for working on both days.
Today we were the ONLY football club present as both Millwall and Charlton decided not to show because of the weather conditions, we carried on, Danson Park was literally a bog, but with some reorganising by Andy and the team we moved to a non boggy area, and still taking money from the speed test when the weather brightened up.
I will be buying all the lads a drink when I see them next week and if you see them I would urge you to do the same.
Finally big thanks to everyone who helped this weekend the list is very long they know who they are. Well done and proud of you boys and girls
Matt
we are now home safely for another year, a big thank you to everyone who has contributed over the weekend, you know who you are, your input helped us raise the profile of the club Well Done.
Law of S*d - I said to some it okay to go we will be alright, but the bands over run and we had to wait for them to finish until cars were aloud on site and when they did they were getting stuck in the mud and had to be rescued including mine.
A big thank you to Gary Leman Billie Leman, Danny Kibble and Malcolm Carey for helping me carry the stand to the car park so we could get it back to PVR.
A great 2 days at Danson ! Despite the weather One of my reasons for helping was to get a great amount of feedback from WUSA members and people close to the club, there was plenty to listen to and discuss, hopefully we can implement some of these over the coming season. It was also great pushing the Welling United name and brand out into the local area. Many people not fully aware of exactly what we had to offer on all fronts. This was made even better by the fact we were the only football club operating for most of Sunday. Hopefully some of the people who took the many flyers handed out will respond by turning up to some of our games. One special mention to Patsy , Sy and Bruno who were instrumental in our relocation on Sunday, and gaining us a dry tent. Others also worked hard across the whole weekend you don't all need a name check, others mentioned above, but thanks.
See you all Saturday

Hats off to all those who made the effort over the two days. I was there myself on Sunday afternoon and conditions were terrible. Charlton and Millwall both gave up but our shop and speed ball test were still there and still going well into Sunday afternoon.
Well done to all those who set up and dismantled our pitch on both days and to all the volunteers. Also had a good chat with our new commercial manager and he was very positive and good luck to him throughout the coming season.
Well done to everyone who put in loads of effort to make the Welling stand such a success. Thanks to somebody from the clubshop (sorry, don't know who it was) who gave my littleun a couple of old programmes - I couldn't believe one was from 2002/3 which turned out is the first year I started going!
Well done to JGFC on the DVDs, picked up the 2011/12 one which is superb!
