Here we go again, fasten your seatbealts, promotion here we come.

entry will be available on the gate, lets hope the rain goes away. Charlton usually bring their strongest squad (except for one year when Dowie brought the under 12s and p'd off both sets of fans used to seeing first team squads in this game, he said after he had no idea Charlton always took the first team)

We have given Charlton a good game on a few occasions and they got out of jail late aswell. with our settled squad, it could be one of those years when its a tight game and we give them problems.

Result not important, just hope the weather is lovely to get a massive crowd in.

Good chance for players to get in spotlight with brief highlights usually on sky sports news aswell.

Ground and pitch looked excellent last week, roll on Saturday.

Got Marmite & myself our season tickets today, nice touch by the club to allow ST' holders in for free on our home PSF's.

See you all Saturday, & as Tom says here we go again.

2nd half team: Turner, Joe Obersteller, McLaren, McGuire, Franks, Acheampong, Baker, Clarke, Cumbers, Lafayette, Healy

2-0 down .... own goal and header from a corner .... not a problem as most of the players are getting a half playing .... point of pre-season

All the new boys looked good signings and trialists were good too, its up to them to keep the standards high and you can bet that Daisy will keep on top of them.

Kurtis Guthrie from Accrington looked a player too (number 9 first half for us http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurtis_Guthrie ).

Will have some highlights and interviews with Jamie Day, Fraser Franks and Charlton boss Chris Powell in due course.

Connor played really well second half, Jamie will have some hard choices if the trialists keep playing like this.

Couldn't make it today but from the club's twitter I see it's 0-0 HT.

First half-team:

Mott, Fazakerley, Obersteller, Kinch, Franks, Acheampong, Hughes Mason, Day, Main, Guthrie, Fairweather Johnson

Good to see Theo Fairweather-Johnson on trial for us, looked a very dangerous player for Thamesmead in the Trophy.

Couldn't be there today due to work, but 1827 on a Saturday isn't what I would have hoped for. Mind you, the other friendlies this year are better than usual so I trust the coffers will be well stocked ready for a title assault !!

Really enjoyed the game today. I thought the performance from the first half team was excellent as proved by Sam Mott not having all that much to do.  Kiernan looks a great signing. Some of the one-two play with Jack was outstanding.  Fraser had a good game too and Theo was also excellent and must have impressed Jamie. With fewer experienced players on the pitch second half it was not surprising that Charlton got on top but we were not disgraced and JT made some excellent saves.  The 1827 crowd may have been a bit disappointing but was hardly surprising given the awful weather for a couple of hours before the game.

How many players can we have in our squad for next season? Is 17-18 too much?

I would imagine it depends on the budget and how much Jamie can get players for.
