Its the fifth meeting between us and the u's in the last year and its fair to say that they have all been respectfully tight. They have all produced a superb amount of decent footballing quality. Should be expecting something exciting tomorrow too. Good to see that we have only been beaten by Sutton once since the 05/06 season which of course was the 4-3 defeat at their place last season. Good attendance on the hands for it being a bank holiday and one of Welling's biggest home games of the season, and one of Sutton's biggest away matches. If we play like we have for the first three matches, then we should be able to bag two or three goals. Im going to have to say 4-2 Welling....

As I said, should be a good attendance today. Sutton could and almost should bring atleast 100 and we should be a average for us or better. I would say about 700-900 today for the Bank Holiday

I wound'nt be so sure, there is still alot of people away on their hol's at the moment.
I think we will be lucky to 650.

Sutton should have been away and gone at half time, dominated us and we looked shakey. Different team second half and probably should have won. Mainys goal was clinical, give him service and he will score.
Theo ran his nuts off and has done well last two games. Encouraging second half, need to go and beat Hayes on Saturday and them its been a good start to the season against some decent teams.
Highlights and interviews with Jamie Day and Mainy to follow.

Not sure why the change of penalty taker. Maybe did not fancy getting in to mind games with the keeper.
We were awful first half and very lucky it was only 1-0. Franks looked lost in midfield so moving him into defence was the obvious decision. Second half we got stuck in more and made more of a game of it. Helped by the ref with the two penalties - I thought they were both very soft. Disappointed not to win it after being 2-1 up, but if you had offered me a point at half time I would have taken it. Main took his goal very well - probably had more touches in that move than in the whole game on Saturday.
Our squad looks weak as soon as a couple of players are out, especially up front. Can't see Cumbers back for a few weeks. When is Jamie due back?

We are without Ross. Cumbers and Daisy and we still had a full bench and we brought Mainy on who scored a belter. We are a Blue Square Bet South club we arent going to have a squad of 25 players. I cant think of many teams at this level with three big players out that wouldnt be weakened. The weakened team showed guts and dug us out of a hole.
Hughes-Mason won a pen for us, lets be fair for the first half none of the boys did great as Sutton absolutely battered us, Despite being without 3 players and not playing well, we dug in and showed lots of balls and skill and could have won. The youngsters need experience you only get from playing and they ran their balls off.
Gutsy second half showing from the lot of them and delighted for the main man, won a penalty, looked sharp and confident, showed great pace to destroy the defender from behind and clinical finish for his goal after Theo held off two men and played him in.

For me Main should be starting every game, Hughes Mason looked weak. The first half was bossed by them in midfield without doubt & this left us on the back foot through out it. We seem to missing Jamie out there in the mid.
Big Ben I thought played some nice lay on balls at times. Moving Faz up & dropping Frankie back was a good move IMO, Faz bombing down the right wing was always a successful part of attacking play in the past & it worked this afternnon to a degree.

You can only score when you get service Kevin. Hes a goal scorer in the Lineker mode. The mans record is superb. Hes still getting fit after a wipeout season. What i love is when we score he goes mental, he did at his old club on Saturday and you could see the joy today. Jamie said in pre season we will bring him on and get him fit slowly. You cant run him into the deck when he is coming back off nasty injuries. He was excellent today and i think that is because he is getting fitter and the confidence is coming back. We have never had a finisher like him. He is clinical and he destroyed their defence , won a penalty and held the ball up aswell.
I think he will flourish now but still need to bring him on slowly and build him up. Jamie aint a mug. Mainy lit up Park View Road today and showed everyone how good he is, you should be happy and looking forward to more. Just think you are a bit harsh given its been stated he needs to get his fitness there after months out of the game.

One nil at half time. Sutton look better organised that us.
Theo has done well but has no support. Hughes-Mason hasnt done much, so i think he should come off, move Fazakerley to right midfield, Franks to defence and bring on Kinch. Sutton are bossing the midfield.
We were excellent for the first 4 minutes, had 3 corners and another couple of good attacks, then Sutton scored and were the better team.
Main took his goal very well, will probably need more of the same if injuries are prolonged. Thought Hughes-Mason looked weak, easily muscled off the ball. Defensive errors costing us at home this season, need to switch on. Overall happy with point based on dire first half, second half showed that we can play much better.
I think it was nice to see a good old fashioned 442 make a comeback in the 2nd half, the 3 man midfield were chasing shadows in the 1st half and were leaving far to much space out on the flanks. With cumbers out for what im guessing will be a 3/4 weeks i think its a perfect time to stick lafeyette and main up top, lafeyette holding the ball and main making the runs for flick ons and through balls.
I honestly think I am watching a different game sometimes.
- keeper booked and should think himself lucky he wasnt sent off .... it wasn't even a foul, let alone a penalty/yellow/red card, - we were not playing 442 second half, or at any point in the last 12 months, - Main - well, I wont go as mad as I should, and he took his goal well, but his performance today was good but only partly makes up for the disgrace that was Saturday.
