I think that is a little harsh. Whilst the performances have been a little disappointing, I don't think it is due to a lack of effort. The management team are ambitious and would notice if that was the case and those not trying would soon be shipped out.
I know for a fact the Gimp is a Welling fan. Just because he's not always positive about the team does not make him any less of a fan. It's good to see someone who doesn't sugarcoat things when they go wrong.
I'd just say expectations are high after last season and the exciting signings we made during the summer. Not started like we all hoped but a long season ahead. COYW.
