Couldn't agree with Daysy's comments about the criticism more and last night the team gave a spirited performance and deserve to get some credit particularly from those who were so quick to criticise after the Hayes game.

From my perspective there are a few points some should bear in mind.

1. Despite the team's performance over the last 2 seasons we don't have a god given right to win games;

2. During a season regardless of what club you are there will always be games where the team does not perform to the best of its ability with, on occasion, one player's off day having an impact on other players;

3. Whilst we managed to retain many of last season's squad our strike force are still bedding down and in Main's case I believe getting match fit.

4. We have been hit with a number of injuries early in the season when games are coming thick and fast.  The size of our squad has meant a degree of mix and match in terms of playing positions.  Whilst there are players who are able to cover positions other than that which they have been signed to play it is not ideal and can upset the balance of the side.

 A prime example last night was that when Sam Mott had the ball everyone was screaming at him to get rid of it quickly. He took his time, launched it miles, Ross Lafayette flicked it on, and Kiernan Hughes-Mason scored.

I don't believe that we should pretend all is rosey following a bad performance but I think it was wrong for anyone to question effort or work-rate. We know the management will dispose of anyone who does not try.

If we follow up last night's victory with another couple of league wins, confidence will increase and the fluency will improve.

 I disagree. The manager commented after Saturday about the (lack of) effort and work rate and a number of fans felt the same way. It is not an accusation that you could level at our squad of players at all over the last two seasons but some people (including the manager in his programme notes last night) felt it was justified.

The players responded in the right way last night and, as you say, I am sure the management team have made it clear what they expect from all the players.

I do apprectiate that Kentish Football try to support the fottballing community in the County. However having listened to Jamie's interview this would appear to have been a lift and drop from the commentry.

Bit of a shame but on first impressions I thought it was an exclusive interview until I saw the on line versions

 Stephen's hand and recording device were quite clearly seen throughout the interview so although he did not ask the questions it was clear that prior agreement had been arranged for him to use the answers. I'm sure Jamie would prefer to conduct one interview for all to use rather than answer the same questions twice.

The only point that I would have liked to be asked was the news on Jack Obersteller's injury.

Bruno...to be fair I dont think you were there on Saturday.....I stick by what I said that evening regarding the performance...it wasny acceptable - Daisy knew that and acted on it....the players knew that and acted on it....It wasnt jumping in too quickly

It was stating the obvious

Its much easier for Jamie to do one interview (and for people to grab the audio) and most of the time other press will have voice recorders if they want Jamies thoughts. Stephen has been doing this for years with no benefit to himself, he isnt looking to get a journo job or broadcasting one or step on peoples toes. He usually grabs our match interview then continues with Jamie on to the next match preview. He also supports the kent teams. Probably also grabs more interviews to be published midweek than any press that covers us.

Correct Mark I was not there but the reaction to the first loss of the season was somewhat harsh in my view and I stand by the points I made.

ALL teams have AT LEAST one game in the season when they do not perform and to get on the players backs in the vitriolic way that some did is in my opinion wrong.  The players know when they have a bad day at the office as do the management team and it is down to them to sort it out.  If we were to be consistently producing poor performances that is a different matter.

Not performing and lacking effort are 2 very different things....I have absolutely no problem losing when we have put everything into a game....but other times no.....remember Jamie has in essence agreed as have the players

Expectation is high and in my view so it should be....it was a kick up the arse and it worked...you pays yer money you take yer choice and all that
