Traveling to Dorchester by train

I have been looking into train fares to Dorchester South from Bexleyheath.

The cheapest I can find at the moment is adults £21.50 & kids £10.75 each way, bought as singles for specified trains only.

Has anyone found any cheaper?

southwestrains.co.uk currently has adult singles for £18.50 each way on specified trains.

£36 return based on one adult one child with a family and friends railcard.....admittedly you have to buy the railcard £28 but although those grounds you could get to on the train....more than one adult and child can travel.

If you speak to other fans that are going and can organise yourselves in multiples of 4 then you can buy the "4 for 2" tickets on the day you are travelling. This is what we all do for every game and usually works out considerably cheaper than booking the tickets in advance. It also means you can travel back when every you want instead of having to book a specific time to travel.

 You are so right Baz - I had to click on the link - here is the first things I saw:

I live miles away from Nuneaton but will be passing through on a Friday this month and I'm keen to spend an hour there, mainly watching freight. My itinerary will allow me to stop for that hour either midday or late afternoon. Anybody got any suggestions as to which would be better. Or should I chose another day?

It is very funny.

Started to read your reply and fell asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How in hell's name can people be that boring..........................watching freight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd rather watch paint dry at least it makes patterns as one bit drys before another........

I loved the watching freight bit......mind you if I had to choose between watching some of the teams in our league every week or watching freight, it could be a close run thing.....
