Sam Mott - distribution was really poor today and was to blame for the third goal, forcing Fraser Franks to give away the penalty
How? Franks made the decision to handle it, nobody else.

The referee - shocking all match. Penalty was an unbelievably bad decision and changed the flow of the game completely.
Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the penalty decision take a look at the photos above. Acheampong is making a last ditch sliding tackle on the edge of our penalty area while Fairweather-Johnson (forward) and Gallagher (midfielder) look on - where's the right back, the left back and the other centre half?
As for all the talk of focussing on the league, let's focus on not giving away cheap goals or stupid penalties. The most telling statistic is the clean sheet count: 3 in 16 games.
Agreed, we have looked amazingly poor at the back all season. Even the games we have totally dominated, like Chelmo away, we nearly came away with less than we deserved.
Lets face it we were rubbish. We've probably flattered to deceive a lot of this season. I think we look like a top ten team no better, and have thought so for good parts of this season. With our budget maybe that's where we are.

Very gloomy Andrew. I think we are inconsistent - especially in the cup games but our league form is better. Maybe away from home we are better - Bromley and Farnborough were top performances and how we lost at Dorchester is still beyond me. I think we are a couple of players short of winning the league as I agree with the post earlier that some players are not up to this level and we do not have strength on the bench. However I think we are still better than most in the league and a play off place is not beyond us.
It's a tight division so far this season. One or two players and we'll be up there for the title, lose one or two for injury/suspension and we'll struggle. Always the way at this level.
We can beat anyone on our day. We can also be beaten by anyone if we play like Saturday. I have faith Day will make the former more likely than the latter.

I agree with chelwing on most observations, and would add...I remember Jamie saying he thought this season would be tough, and that a play off place will be a realistic target.
There is a tight budget and Jamie has done well to bring a team together that can compete.
Bishop Stortford did a job on us and we must believe there are lessons that will be learned.
OK, we were disappointed to lose, but lets look at were we are in the league, we are placed nicely to try and push on.
There are other cups to play for and 2 thirds of the season to look forward to.
Jamie and the management team have committed by signing contracts, call me naive, but that says a lot about the attitude of these men for me, and as supporters we must get behind them.
Come on lads, we can take our knocks and get stronger.
