Boxing day (Wednesday), early kick off dont forget, 2 hours earlier than usual 3pm.
The Urchins are going ok in their first season back. Jimmy Mac will have them working hard and fit, so we need to be on our game. Would be good to get lots there despite the transport being a shambles on Boxing day.
Lets hope for a break in the weather so their isnt any doubt or pitch inspections. We should be fresh and up for it after a little break.
coyw lets keep the run going, easy on the sprouts and pudding lads...
Reminder for those that booked for the supporters coach, it leaves PVR at 11am , to check for any spaces/cancellations email matthewmein@googlemail.comDo not turn up on the day trying to get on the coach if you havent booked in advance.

They are forecasting on & off showers between now & Christmas afternoon, this is acording to the BBC weather.
Boxing Day they are showing a 'sun' symbol'? Any one remember what that looks like?
Lets hope the Hornchurch groundsman can do all that is possible to make the pitch playable. Im sure they need the gate reciepts as much any other club over the festive period.

Have found these posts on the un-offical Hornchurch forum by one of their 'Moderators'.....
Forum Heading 'THINK WE MAY BE OK'
For Boxing Day,just checked the latest met office, heavy rain will persist today but tomorrow is dry until the evening and Xmas eve is forecast for light rain, although Christmas Day and Boxing Day are forecast dry. Hopefully the pitch will drain tomorrow and if we need to work on it Xmas eve we can get any water off and hope it is playable by Boxing Day,fingers crossed....POSTED SAT' 11.37am
The latest met office weather doesn't look as encouraging Tomorrow is mainly dry, with the odd shower, then rain from tomorrow night and Christmas Eve,even Christmas Day doesn't look dry now Boxing Day looks good though, about 9c and sunny so we have a decent chance of it being on....POSTED SAT' 9.41pm
& they have this one titled....'POSSIBLE HELP NEEDED'
It is likely, with the weather forecast that the pitch will be quite wet over the next few days. If needed, the club would like as many people down there at 10am Christmas Eve to remove any water off the pitch. The forecast is wet until then but I think Xmas day and Boxing Day look ok at he moment. Please bring a fork or something equivalent if possible......POSTED FRI 12.08pm
Some one did reply to ask if this was still going ahead (the help req), & the mod' replied 'dunno'......
Oh FFS! C'mon Horrnchurch sort it out please!

I will be checking out our Blue Square North rivals Brackley Town on Boxing Day (vs Oxf.City) .. as will be with family up there. With a bit of luck (and if weather permits) I can get decent enough reception on the old iphone to get twitter updates for Wings / Hornchurch
Right, here's the latest from their site....(Xmas eve pm)
''any update on this? from looking at metcheck it looks like it will rain between now and boxing day. how is the pitch looking?''
Cue fella in the know;''Apparently its ok,met checks crap, don't use it. It is supposed to be rainy today but light, tomorrow is the same but Boxing Day should be ok mate, think the game will be ok''
Lets hope he is right!

I think its only hope keeping some people thinking there will be a game tomorrow at Hornchurch. Logically its a 33/1 shot to go ahead based on Saturday and the monsoon since unless their pitch is hollow tined and has a drainage system and undersoil heating.
I can see everyone trying to find a game on somewhere from breakfast time. Hopefully theres some word later or an early pitch inspection and people dont travel with only a slim chance of a game being on or finishing.
We havent heard anything from AFC Hornchurch, their pitch may have been ok a day or two ago, but i would doubt it.
If PVR is playable (33/1 also probably) i take it the deres are at home?

Well if this has been light rain........!........not looking good
I think the only chance of a match is a 3g friendly at well hall, sparrows lane or thamesmead, its like a monsoon out there and no games were playable on Saturday. Id be amazed if our game was on if the sun came out for 24 hours.

Good win, we could have scored plenty second half, nice Christmas present from the players an away win on Boxing Day. Interviews with Jamie Day and Lee Clarke up later tonight, A Christmas song from one of the management team!! and highlights to follow
Faz was voted Man of the match, narrowly shading Kiernan.
The apparant "handful" of wings fans were excellent, a good 100-125 of them in all areas of the ground.

Yes there were definitely at least 100 obvious Wings fans, as shown by the attendance compared to what Hornchurch normally get. Very good performance. Could have won by more. Obviously it became more comfortable when they went down to 10, but even so you still have to do the job.
Thought the first yellow for the dive was justified, may be wrong but looked the best dive of the three. Ornchurch agricultural ... a post on their forum about expecting Welling to be better made me lol
Considering the state of the pitch KMH second goal was quality and that was followed up by a superb header from Faz, both well worth watching again via the highlights.
