Makes sense for him - he hasn't been getting regular first team football at Woking so will give him a chance to up his game and challenge for a first team place. Not sure how much football he will get at Boreham Wood over the next month though!!
We don't need him anymore , more then enough firepower in the squad .. I like Pires but sometimes he could disrupt the flow a bit for me ... Hope he gets deserved 90 minutes at Boring Wood though
I'm with you Moo. Would have been a great addition to our sqaud. Yes he was innconsistant at times (very little last year) but he was unplayable when on top form something I am yet to see from Guthrie.
Have to think if Cumbers had been fit a deal for Pires would have been more likely as he would have been playing up top with a player who is a mate and someone he has played with before. If we had signed Pires now he would have been up top with someone whom he doesn't know and who doesnt know him! He'd be just another player to the squad!
However, attractive a Pires and Lafyette strike partnership is!!

Pires seems to be dividing opinion but for me there can be little doubt that he was a very good footballer for this Club. A bit inconsistent in his first season at times but outstanding last season in a classic three pronged attack. Got a move to a higher level though that doesn't seem to be working out too well. Jack hasn't found it easy there either and Pugh has struggled a bit at that level. Pires would undoubtedly be an asset to the Club should he return but is probably not needed at the moment taking budget into account. We certainly wouldn't pay a fee for him!
Guthrie shows promise but needs to become a goal threat whilst talking of inconsistency Hughes Mason is bafflingly so!
From what I've seen from occasional glances on their forum he's actually been doing very well in terms of his overall play, just being played out of position on the right wing in a 4-4-2. I'd happily take Loick back - him and Roscoe would absolutely bully defences. But if the choice was between Loick and Pugh - no contest

Have people forgot some of the goals or the penalties and free kicks he won already? Goal of the season twice, players player of the season.
If we had the money i would have thought he would have been back here and not at boreham wood. Maybe at the end of the season?
Of course not! .. but we're on a stride and for the most part team spirit and bonding is working and we are getting good good results , why would we want we want him back at this stage? .. He obviously needs 90 minutes so Boreham Wood seems the obvious choice... We play differently this season and I personally can't see where Pires would fit in it at this moment in time , with pre-season etc then obviously it would be a different story .. anyway , he's at Boreham Wood so it's kind of a pointless argument ... and Kiernan has his song now
I'd love to have him back here. Do people honestly believe that Guthrie is better?
Kurtis Guthrie is young and has joined the team in mid-season. Give him time. There is enough about him to suggest that he can become a very good footballer.

Im not saying we should have got him back NOW, or that we could in any way afford him without shaking up a squad that is doing very well. At the end of the season i would think he would be on our radar. If he came back he would be a good signing if within our budget, hes shown what he can do and he will improve further.

All are young players and all will become more consistent. Everyone expects the finished article but we have to be patient.
Loick Pires will have taken a pay rise at Woking so I would doubt that Welling could afford him. I'd be happy to see him back but not if it meant releasing a player or two as that might have a detrimental effect on team spirit.
Hopefully, he will re-find confidence and form at Boreham Wood and flourish upon his return to Woking.

If Pugh and Pires are being played out of position perhaps they should have stayed where they were loved! Full time footy is all very well but..
