I have removed my original post, the first post in this guise, because I did not think it was particularly constructive to the debate. As a few people have said, I think a number of clubs at our level will have cash-flow problems stemming from postponement of home games. I believe there is a precedent for the FA to help out with the immediate payment of monies owed to clubs which have had runs in the FA Cup and Trophy and for the Conference to pay out whatever, if any, sponsorship monies are due. Also, if our club had short-term problems I would hope it would appeal to individual fans and WUSA for help - and I would wish that we could set aside previous misgivings to donate whatever we can afford, as a one-off payment to help sustain our title/play-off challenge. Incidentally, it must be a mite tricky for the club to rearrange postponed fixtures when scheduled and rearranged fixtures for E&B&Q have to be considered.

It was the tone that makes the whole press release a real faux pas. If they cant raise the money to pay for their team, then release players and use academy or get better commercially at briging crowds in.

It is as said the same for all clubs and the statement is badly worded, particularily the first paragraph.
The writing must have been on the wall through?-surely through cash flow projections and management accounts they must have had a "what if". Even if one game was postponed did no one look at the skys and say this could be here for a while?
Whilst I do sympathsise with their plight, short term panic does not disallow the fact that long term planning and a look earlier in the season might have been a wiser move
BTW £30?- a donation? doesnt look like their is any hope of getting it back and what hope have they got with everybody else just being hit by christmas credit card bills. Best bet I can see at the moment is to borrow from Febuary's pot and hopefully an understanding bank manager
I think Non League season should start earlier, maybe in the last couple of weekends of July. Clubs could benefit as league fans missing their football fix turn up and watch their local team, and people turn out because the weather's nice. Then you could have a break in January (I loathe to say that as the weather in this country is not predictable. Last year the snow and postponements were in Feb), but generally speaking January is usually the most high risk month for frozen pitches etc. Crowds are low in January anyway, after Christmas.
It's an idea. I don't quite agree with it myself, but there are some positives.
It's absolutely dreadful. They could have kept quiet, spent money they didn't have, run up debts and been served with a winding up petition before expecting the fans to bail them out but no club would do that would it?
True, but opinions on here have always been or alledgedly are personal and not the views of the club.
I think the majority of people on here know that the club foolishly got itself into its previous position and have learnt the long road to recovery, albeit not there yet the hard way
