I think people sometimes think we should play like messi and co every week. We had 11 shots or headers at goal on Saturday which is almost double what we had at home to Grimsby. On that pitch we dug in and had a high workrate and kept a clean sheet and won, Job done.

Sign of a good team - don't play that well and still win.
Having reflected on the game whilst Basingstoke had more possession and territory they didn't actually create very much. Motty made one excellent save first half and a couple of routine ones and of course they missed a penalty. We scored from a decent move and Roscoe had the best chance of the first half before that.
As people have said we can't play well every week (especially on a surface like that) and Basingstoke were on a run of three wins prior to that game - it wouldn't surprise me if they were pushing for the play offs again later in the season.
Credit to our boys for digging in, defending well and nicking the three points.
