Morrisons have Shepherd Neame Masterbrew for £1. Lovely beer and one I actually prefer bottled to draught.

Never mind Alan, the club will have Youngs Bitter and Sheps Spitefire both on the real ale hand pump for the game today.

Not sure what one will be on first though, depends on how I feel as to which one I tap first.

Youngs bitter would be my death row beer. You know, where they offer you a last drink of whatever you fancy.

Always been my favorite and absolutely gutted that Youngs no longer brew it themselves. I just hope Wells continue the brew.

I remember going to the brewery in Wandsworth in the 60's and they'd just brought out a strong beer for the export market.

They had a competition within the staff to come up with a good name. The winner was "Youngs Strong Export Ale". Simple is usually best.

I think they call it "London Ale" now.

I prefer youngs thesedays since wells started brewing it. When a lot younger (no pun) and us lads went out on Saturday nights I could never drink a pint of Youngs, always had to dilute with a light ale. Now I find it goes down very smooth when on in my local. I would drink it in preference to Harveys which is often on with it.

Youngs? Special surely not the Ordinary which is aptly named. The Falcon in Clapham Junction had 4 (I think) porters on last night. Never been a big fan before but slipped down nicely.

And for those of you that prefer a lively tipple and not a drink dull in colour or presentation, then you can pop into Tesco or Morrison's and pick up a proper drink........Fosters or Carling.

I went to Makro on Thursday and they had 20 X 300ml bottles of Fosters Gold for £5.99 plus VAt (£7.20). About 36p a bottle.

I can't think why it's so popular though, they certainly don't drink it in OZ. The only place you see it is in the supermarkets.
