Glad I'm home now, my toes are frozen. Well worth it to see our boys go top. Credit to Farnborough, they came to win but just could not break our defence down. Once the second goal went in they seemed to get a little deflated and we improved our passing and saw the game out without too much bother. For me, I thought motm was Anthony.
Good result, better 2nd half after giving the ball away too many times in the first half. Thought Dereece had a cracking 2nd half and AA solid throughout, agree Jake was sublime
I thought Vanderhyde looked decent tonight. Didn't go to Sutton but thought he looked shaky on Saturday. He impressed me today. Thought we were much better second half and Kurtis really changed the game. Top of the league.......happy days

Excellent game and now, top of the league. De'Reece had an outstanding game tonight, as did Jake and Roscoe. Hard to cal MoM, so it goes to all three of them.
Agree with Falconwood ^ Dereece had a brilliant game and was man of the match for me.
Some of the stick players get from the old stand in particular is disgusting. Fair enough abusing the referee/other team/other management, but certain players cop a load of stick from our own so-called fans. Kiernan, Theo, Mott in particular. Last couple of seasons it was Pires and Parkinson.
Anthony/Big Ben were rocks at the back once again though and Motty made a good save in the first half.
We've now lost 1 of the last 42 home league matches, and that was against Eastleigh last year when we had nothing to play for as we were already in the play-offs. Quite phenomenal really, fortress PVR you could say.
I won't ruin a great night for the Wings with negative comments but there are still one or two players weak links for me. But I'm sure daisy knows just where we need/can strengthen if the need arose.
Sadly Farnborough supporters coach must have got lost as i dont think they had more than about 15 fans there. Bitterly dissapointing we take decent numbers everywhere yet seem to only see decent travelling fans come to us about 4 games a season.

Thought De'Reece was outstanding and Jake Gallagher is superb at driving the team on. Thought everyone, players and supporters were over anxious in the first half.
No one should get carried away with being top in February but we are good enough so we just need to believe and trust the players and management team. We will always score goals but there will be days when we have to be patient.
Great goal by Rossco and good to see the centre backs scoring so regularly.

Although "having a go" is detrimental to the team, there is a reason these two are bit part players.
It is just not happening for KHM at the moment, you cannot fault his workrate, but his final delivery and ability to beat the last man is somewhat lacking at the moment. He has bundles of ability but its just not happening for him currently.
JgFc there was about 15 behind the goal and 20-25 moaning I the stands after a foul
There were about 8 behind the goal and the people in the stand were just having a go at the ref and could have been anyone. One foul mouthed tosser from Farnborough could be heard swearing at the ref plenty of times. They usually bring a few but yesterday they didnt.
Kevin is just being silly. He forgets we have a budget, he forgets you need to give young players experience. He ignores that Kiernan set up the second goal and was player of the month for the league. Some people just dont see everything in a game so let them have their whinge but its if its rubbish then it shouldnt be posted.
We all know the posts earlier in the season from someone slagging off half the team as not good enough, wont go over old ground but they are part of a team top of the league... they cant be that bad lol.
Wouldnt hurt to be positive especially when we can put pressure on Salisbury.

To be fair to KHM, against Havant and a few other teams recently, we've played so deep at times that he would receive the ball on the halfway line and have to sprint forward with it to relieve some pressure - as a result there was rarely anyone in the box for him to cross into.
I don't think I'm being silly Tom, just have a different opinion. Theo hasn't started many games recently, which somewhat supports my point. This is the highest level he has played at, and I think it is starting to show.

There was a half filled coach. It left almost immediately after the game with a couple of youngsters flicking v's. Very Green Street!!
Mark it was about 3 or 4 years ago, he scored a brace for Burnley reserves, here is a piece from vital Burnley. With a quote from Coyle.
My point is people see he has talent, he roasted us last season and is a good squad member open to improvement. You dont get then premier league managers looking at players and interested in keeping tabs if they arent good enough for Blue Square South etc. I think he is doing a job in midfield for us.
We have to be realistic, we are top of the league, lost one in 40 odd at home, and we have done it with a sprinkling of youngsters who will gain experience. I think every one of this squad is a valuable member and gives plenty. Sure there are some inconsistencies but we are Blue Square South and they all want to bust their nuts for us. I know you agree to a point that the youngsters deserve encouragement. People do tend to focus on any negatives, if they focused on positives i personally feel the youngsters will play with more freedom.
Trialist still being Trialed!
Clarets gaffer, Owen Coyle has decided to look further at trialist Theo Fairweather-Johnson before he decides whether to offer the former 19 year-old, pacy West Ham winger a contract.
Fairweather-Johnson started the season with Conference South side Fisher Athletic. He also played for two other non-league sides, Dulwich Hamlet and Beckenham.
The reserves beat Preston 1-0 last Wednesday with the trialist impressing and hitting the post.
He also scored twice two weeks ago in the second string`s 4-1 thumping of Rochdale.
Coyle said:
"He played another game on Wednesday and he did okay, so that`s one we`ll have a look at and we`ll see what happens.
"We`ll continue him on in his progress and just keep an eye on him from there."

Hes a striker or a left winger i reckon and hes been a decent squad member. I go back to my point about a budget, we have a need for a few youngsters that Jamie can try and polish. So being negative isnt very helpful.
Theo was being tracked by Owen Coyle and he was good enought to hurt us last season. Wouldnt it be nice if his next game people really got behind him even if it didnt come off and see if that had a positive effect?

I agree they dont all come off and some were poor, like Tuna but Daisy usually works out who is pony and who can be good enough.
Kiernan gets some stick but nobody mentions he gets back and tracks back and wins the ball back in his own half and yesterday in the right back position, he gets kicked senseless and wins free kicks. Sometimes people just say oh he is crap because he possibly holds the ball a touch too long without making a decision quick enough.
Yesterday he absolutely destroyed their player, knocking it past him and giving him a cold then getting wacked in the face by the guys arm. Kiernan deffo has it, trust me. Still needs to improve consistency and decision making granted, but he needs experience, his work rate is tremendous.
I'm truly excited at how good he could be. Yesterday he showed pace that is frightening.

So he was close to a move to a Lancashire Championship club. Quite a coup for us then!
