If we get a better result than them this weekend (win to their draw, draw to their defeat) then it is all over.

Billericay might be struggling but that may be a good thing. They will fight like mad and need a result desperately.

Take care of our own business and it doesn't really matter as others have already said.

 Correct.

We win get to 84 they draw get to 74 - game over.

We draw get to 82 they lose stay on 73 - they can then get maximum of 82 and, with our goal difference, this also means game over.

All correct as far as I can see. Is anybody else finding themselves working out the possibilities in their heads at every possible opportunity,or is it just me? Basically, with our excellent goal difference one more win should be enough but we just need Salisbury to fail to win one more game. Exciting, isn't it?

The calculations are thus:  win and not lose any of our remaining games.  Let other teams do the calculations.

Don't forget that Salisbury lose their goalkeeper for the red card he got against us.

I'm sure there are 21 teams in our league that would swap positions with us.

We just have to carry on playing like we have all season.

Yes agreed, if those Wurzel's win every one of there remaing 4 games that will put them on 85 pts.

That would mean that as it stands today, we would have to get 1 win & 2 draws from our remaining 3 games, which would put us on 85 as well but have a far better goal difference.

As we all know we have Weston at home, Boreham Wood away & Eastleigh at home.....all tough games as all 3 are are bidding for a playoff place.

The Wurzel's have;

Billericay (a) on Sat' 13th,  Havant and W (h) Sat' 20th,  Sutton Utd Mon' (a), &  Basingstoke (a) Sat' 27th

A welling draw combined with a Salisbury defeat would not see us officially declared champions as Salisbury could still finish on same points....82.

So, basically, as long as we get a 'better' result than Salisbury on Saturday, we are champions. If we achieve the same result or they achieve a better result than us, it goes to the next round of matches.

Agreed wingnut but we would not be champions officially with us drawing and them losing although our GD will mean we are all celebrating I'm sure.

We are also forgetting about the little matter of beating WSM. Their away form is fantastic. They will be at it from the start and will fancy their chances against us big time! We will have to be at our best to beat them.

WSM are easily the most improved team in this Division in recent seasons. Relegation favourites several years ago and play-off contenders now.

They are indeed and we need to be at it from the off.

Looking at the away stats v Top half teams their form is good, but not great:
http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/conference-south/2012-2013/versus-top-half/away

And looking at our home form against top half teams...

http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/conference-south/2012-2013/versus-top-half/home

I appreciate stats aren't everything!
