Conference game, about 6 weeks ago: Gateshead vs Hayes & Yeading Utd - 0-0 with 20 mins approx to go, Gateshead down to 10 men, Gateshead players breaks leg, Gateshead refuse to come out and finish game.
Referee does not abandom game.
Hayes & Yeading (from west London) travel home.
Conference (incompetent mugs) award Hayes the 3 points, but Gateshead appeal and Conference rule game to stand as a 0-0 ndraw but deduct Gateshead 1 point. So Hayes lose 2 possible points. Hayes allowed no appeal!!!!
How wrong is that
To make matters worse, a Hayes player (main striker who was suspended for that game; as it was not completed, missed the game against Forest Green, 3 days later, so had a 2 game punishment for a 1 game ban)!!!
In brief: the leagues make the rules up as the go along. Safly, cheats prosper in football. End of!
yup, and I think there is a scenario where we could finish 2nd...... does not bear thinking about. I know the lads will do it, it's their time - they have worked through some pretty tough years and I really feel they have earned this and deserve it ....... even with Weston's consolation goal...
never mind. we can put the champagne on ice for a sunnier day. At least today's result shows we're more than capable of getting another win before the end of the season.
What a great game to watch and huge congratulations to Kurtis. He was on a different planet today and could have scored more - whatever he had for breakfast, I'll have a pint of it please An excellent all round performance from the guys today and a thoroughly deserved win. Good to see Faz warming up too - we need him for next seasons campaign. Jake was awesome at left back - he is, in my opinion, the most improved player of the season and if I get to meet him, I'll buy him a pint.
The tee shirts of Scott and Kiernon were brilliant - it just shows what a great team ethos we have at the club.

Well Tom, opinion on the ref - apart from not showing a yellow card he did not miss much, in fact I thought he and the other match officials had an excellent game.
So is this the scenario?: We win vs Boreham Wood - We win the league We draw vs Boreham Wood - We win the league We lose vs Boreham Wood - 1) Take to Eastleigh at home 2) We win the league if Salisbury draw or lose
Just a question, for the minutes silence before the game, what exactly was that for?!? Was it to do with the death of Maggie Thatcher? Hillsborough? Something else?

"UNFORUNATELY THE SEAGULLS FAILED TO CAPITALISE ON THE FINE WINS OF LATE AND WENT DOWN 4-1 AT THE HANDS OF CHAMPIONS ELECT WELLING UTD. WE HAD A NUMBER OF CHANCES AND COULD HAVE GONE IN AT HALF TIME 1-0 UP. THERE IS STILL EVERYTHING TO PLAY FOR AND WE REMAIN IN FOURTH PLACE"

Er...
They are right. If they had not conceded three and had scored one, they could have gone in 1-0 up. Of course, had they conceded nine, they could have gone in 9-0 down.
I don't recall them having more than 1 or 2 half chances although one and two are both numbers so they did have 'a number' of chances, just a very low number.
