......who else is getting excited for Saturday.....the first day when we can win this league on our own without being concerned about other results.....Just us!!!!.....Fantastic!!!
As I have said before....I idnt think it would happen to us and over the years I have always spent this bit of the season jealously (I guess) looking at the sucessful club(s) and wishing it was us!!
We are always thought of as the poor relations...the scruffy next door neighbours and looking at the conference national forum thread it looks like some people just can't wait to see us again(very sarcastic). I particularly like the comment about us making the premier more of a non league division again. I kind of like that feeling,I'm proud that we are out playing and out performing the so called bigger boys of this division, and have done all season. I have said elsewhere that I am a relitively new supporter but this club gets in your system and the thought that we can do it on Saturday is such a good feeling. I won't be there due to other commitments but I know where my head and my heart will be come 3pm.

JgFc,I've spent 5 minutes wondering what your last post means and although I'm probably missing something very obvious.....what does your last post mean please?
By rights we should have as many there as the play-off final last year, as if we win on Saturday we're up!
Boreham Wood's easy to got to as it's in zones 1-6 (unlike Dartford).
We need as many people down Boreham Wood as possible. Get the friends and family up there even. The more people we take along, and the more vocal we are, the bigger the boost the lads will get.
See the Boreham Wood away thread for more details.

Now it can be....now it WILL be
Roll on 4.45 Saturday

I've been excited for weeks. As it gets closer it's become a mix of total belief and worry / concern. I'm convinced we will do it on Saturday, well probably.
I'm going down PVR for final game and in a way be nice to be there with the thought that Welling have already clinched the title and so be able to relax and enjoy the game!!

I was thinking about that last night. I would say yes if we win but maybe not if we draw and Salisbury win Sat and Mon because we would not have mathematically won it.
.... just 1 point needed, so if we draw saturday .... title is ours even if salisbury win all games (unless they can clock up twenty some more goals!) ....
If Salisbury win on Sat and we draw then we will not OFFICIALLY be promoted as Salisbury could still win the league......however unlikely that may be with our far superior goal difference. Why don't we just win the game then we can put this all to bed for once and all.

I couldn't give a s**t about mathematical or official - a draw at the weekend will be enough.
Salisbury will not turn round a deficit of 20 goals in the next week and a half.
If we are drawing late in the game I don't expect us to be going mad for a winner as it is not necessary (although it might calm the nerves a little!)
Wingnut,I'm not really concerning myself with it being official either, the only reason I say it was in response to the question about a possible trophy presentation on the last day.
Anyone else mildly concerned that if we have a huge turnout we may well get exposed to the problem that Boreham Wood have had home and away for some big games in the past?
They have been known to attract a "lively" element. Presumably any such decision would have been made by now. Segregation isn't such a bad thing if we are all in one place and maximise the noise.
Agreed,I wouldn't have thought they could leave it till the last minute to make a decision. Common sense would suggest that a lot of Welling supporters will make the trip seeing the importance of the occasion.
More the reason why they had to have segregation in the first place i.e. Bishops Stortford, Kingstonian and Worksop amongst a few cited and more infamous incidences.
Let us just say there are 21 other towns in this League more suited to celebrating promotion in.. although this is the hand we have been dealt so let's get it done.
We had minor issues at a Trophy tie several years ago but not at what I would call mundane league fixtures. I used to do a lot of ground hopping and there were certain teams you avoided on certain occasions. Given a Welling win or draw could easily remove their chance of a play off place it wouldn't be my first choice of match if I didn't have a vested interest. All depends if some of their locals decide if it is a 'big' game or a 'mundane' fixture.
I am not expecting it but you would have to have been walking around with your head in the sand for 15 years not to consider it a possibility.
Eastleigh - Only really has a Wetherspoons but is more inviting than Borehamwood's in my recollection. Probably 21st as Welling at least has the odd decent pub in Bexleyheath within 15 minutes walk.
Dover - Selection of decent pubs in town if you know where to look although the change in ownership of Blake's is to be lamented. Frequent bus service on the old A2.
Billericay - 15 minute walk to a decent Spoons and a couple of other decent pubs.
Chelmsford - blessed with one of the better pub selections we visit. Not my fault if none of you can work the buses out!
Salisbury - The Park and Ride bus now goes past the end of the road so it can go round the new estate so no excuses on location. As for pubs, probably a destination you'd choose for a beery weekend.
If you want to talk out of town grounds then go for one's we have visited with no public transport like Clevedon or Ashford had they have still been in the same division.
