Just wanted to know where people tend to enjoy a drink before the game?
I normally go Turnpike! i know there's plenty of pubs along welling but just always gone Turnpike then walked down to PVR!. i havent been in the wings bar for years was thinking maybe going there this sat! but probarly be very busy i guess being last game and all!!!
Well, for me, I sneak into the Executive Lounge and pretend that I am someone impotent. Never a queue and I wait until someone buys me a pint. That is enough to get my day off in the right way.

For me it's pretty much the same as most. The Turnpike (real ale on tap) and The Nags if there's a match on the big screen. Seldom go in the Guy, even though its next door to the ground.
Eric Brackstone (bless him, hope he is ok) suite for me (exec lounge to you), with real ale (when available) delivered by Teddy, Val or Pam and kind souls from the Wings Bar. I rarely go to a pub before a home match, I would rather the proceeds went to the club to invest in facilities/team etc rather than to a large corporate business. I wish more of our supporters would do the same.
In an ideal world I would visit the Wings Bar more often before and during a match and have my hard earned going to the club, but realistically even at games where the crowd is hardly huge the bar is just too crowded. Takes a while to get served, not enough places to sit, and unfortunately no live football.
I realise the irony in not spending money there meaning less funds for the club to invest in better facilities but when I'm bringing friends to the game who ain't Welling fans then I have to go with the most popular option of comfortable pub.
Yes, Ben, I can understand that. Until and unless we have the dosh to fund bigger and better bar facilities (and, again, it comes down to priorities) I guess this will always be the case for a number of our fans.

We in East Kent have loads of these micro pubs - the atmosphere and conviviality varies and, obviously, as new kids on the block they are trying hard to capture the camraderie of old, established, locals. In my experience, they are just places (sometimes quite cramped) to go to drink reasonable ale. Also, although the costs and overheads of running these micro pubs are comparatively lower than ordinary pubs, it is not always reflected in the beer prices. In terms of beer taste and quality, Gadds, my local brewery, is brilliant - as are Old Dairy and Wantsum.

I hear there's a new place opened near PVR. I can't think what it's called but it was mentioned in the program they gave out at the Bexley Beer Festival.
It used to be an electrical shop but is now a real ale bar. Not sure about opening hours or prices as haven't tried it yet.
