I see Jamie mentions about going full time is that possible for us it would help attract players but then again wages and cost might spiral out of control

Won't happen anytime soon. And bear in mind going full time would mean we'd lose certain key players who have full time work commitments - Joe Healy, Roscoe etc.

I seem to remember hearing (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that training will be increased to 3 times per week, but other than that it's the same as usual

It's nice to see the SVBT and the players recognise and appreciate the role played by the fans in saving the club. Unlike the club itself in Saturday's programme...

Spoke to Jamie today and he is looking at three morning sessions a week. Will be interesting to see how it pans out but think it has to be beneficial to train early in the day.

I know I don't quite compare as a physical specimin to the Welling players but by evening I really don;t feel like doing much and am sure, to whatever degree, most people are the same.

I dont come over often but this is a once-in-a-lifetime for me, I dont remember the first league title!

Im looking forward to seeing Welling compete at a higher level. It would have been nice to see a win but its all about seeing captain Lee Clarke pick up the trophy.

i know i had a few jars before i spoke to the guy but i definitely didnt come out with either of those statements. I started following the Wings the first season in the Conference, so i have seen us play at a higher level and also i spoke to him before the game so i must be able to see into the future also!!. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story....ha ha

The journalist probably expanded somewhat on Mark's statement too, which I suspect went along the lines of "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" smile

"We know all the players and have a great relationship, especially the ones who go to all the away games."

Which players don't go to all the games?

Whilst morning sessions sound a good idea in theory don't see how this helps players in full time employment e.g. Healy and Lafayette. Wouldn't want to lose good players for that reason especially as we won't be paying enough for them to give up the day job even if they wanted to.

Juan Joe himself told me prior to Boreham Wood away that the training causes more problems for him than the actual games, but still insisted he'd be here. I'd also heard a rumour from one of our more prominent supporters, although he'd had about 12 pints at the time, that Roscoe may not be able to commit to next season. I made sure to ask the man himself at the end of season awards and he said nothing of the sort, and that he'd still be here.

So fingers crossed, because those two in particular are different gravy.

Excellent news ref Roscoe....Joe confirmed 'before the beer flowed' that he cant wait.....in fact he brought his boss from the city to the match and he loved it...so...happy days

Would be good to get him to sign a contract next season but he traditionally doesnt so ....

To be fair a lot of the players didnt travel if injured or not selected. That may be Jamie giving them time off or telling them not to travel.

I always think unless they are throwing up or have an infectious disease its good for team spirit if they travel when not playing, Its also good that theyve seen what we did right or wrong, they still get paid?
