Says he wants to leave the club and is hoping to join a new one ASAP. Should we go for him? He has proved himself in the last 2 seasons

If that's the case then his ambition is clearly to fill his wallet rather than progress as a footballer. I'm sure he'd get goals in the BSP

I believe he has quite a successful job away from football and cannot commit to huge amounts of travelling, full time training etc. Shame as I have always rated him as a player.

"wants a new challenge" which, translated into non league football speak, really means "available to the highest bidder"

Maidstone would be my guess too.

Dartfords ground holds 4000 and is newish, Of course we would like that. Unfortunately we dont have  the head of Bexley council on our board and we havent been donated a ground by said council.

Would rather have Dartfords ground than Maidstones all day long.

If you had the choice of playing for an ambitious club, with a smart new ground, and in front of regular crowds of 2000-3000, would you opt instead to sign up for a team with a very dodgy financial track record who will have to survive with the support of two men and a dog? I think not!!!

 Thanks for that input ...

"Smart" is not a word I would use about Maidstone's ground --- yet.  Good luck to the Stones, it is time they went back up through the leagues.  Unfortunately, they will stay in the league to which they have won promotion unless they revert from their 3G pitch to grass to comply with Conference and Football League policy (which is not always right).  And I cannot see that policy changing any time soon despite the much-improved quality of artificial pitches.

Maidstones ground is Tiny, decent main stand but very basic.

If the gentleman is a Dartford fan, I did not care much for the cramped experience at his ground during last year's play-off final. Even when it is not crowded, the ground seems claustrophobic and hemmed in.  Although the set-up is rather enviable in many areas (especially the bars and sports facilities), there does not appear to be much of a grandstand - just seats on what appears to be a raised bit of the terracing.  I prefer our ground, with stands, open, warts and all.

Judging by pictures, Maidstone's ground looks "tidy".  Dartford's ground strikes me as "clinical".

I thought Maidstone's ground was alright when I went there - it wasn't busy though few hundred for a Ryman Youth match. Dartford however I really dislike - feels like you are playing in doors - seats are rubbish. I wouldn't swap it for PVR. I couldn't imagine going there every fortnight.

Dorchester is my favourite ground in BSS. Paid for by Tesco when they built their supermarket. Some of our larger supporters have been known to have trouble getting through the turnstiles though.

To say you wouldnt swap Ponces Park for PVR is a bit silly imho, Any new ground would be beneficial especially if it was given to us and includes revenue streams to bring in money.

Seem to remember a similar incident at Fisher a few years ago when some larger gates were needed for entrance of said larger supporter

Crikey Tom,  despite being picky about aspects of Dartford's ground, I agree - I would snatch arms off if it was given to Welling.  The infrastructure and the revenue opportunities are such that you could not fail to make money.  One issue though, that bloody great hill up to the ground from Darenth (?) road.  It is a real challenge for people with breathing difficulties and the elderly.  At Dover, there is a nice chap who gives such people a lift on a sort of golf buggy up their steep hill - and he started it voluntarily because his dad (an ex-miner I think) had lung disease and could not cope.

I agree with you 100% Chelwing about Dartford's ground.  I wouldn't swap it for PVR either.  The facilities there may be very good but I find it very claustrophobic.  There is no height to watch the game from and if you sit in the seats you are so close to the pitch I always feel you are in danger of getting a ball in the face.  I can put up with going there once a season but certainly wouldn't want to go there every home game.

I also agree with you about Dorchester.  Lovely ground.  Now if someone would like to build us a ground the same as that I definitely wouldn't say no.
