Given how Macclesfield's idea of a similar ilk, but to include playing time went down like a led balloon I really would question if the financial gain from this will be enough to justify just how tinpot and unprofessional it will look.

We could potentially have an overweight 50 year featuring in the clubs squad picture for ever and a day, along with a listing in the player profiles of all away games. I really do hope we sell a lot of tickets to justify this.

To be fair Macclesfield were asking for what, 20 grand?

I do agree though. It's our 50th anniversary year. Do we really want to look back at programmes and squad photos in 10 or 20 years time and go "Who's that fat bloke there?" I shall resist the urge to poke fun at certain players here smile but it does seem a bit...tinpot.

Perhaps it should only be open to physically fit 20-somethings...but that's just my completely unbiased opinion wink

It's a great idea if it's you that gets selected, certainly. I'd love to do it myself, but I think once the proceeds are all counted up and then disappear into thin air shortly after, we'd all be going "Hmm, was that such a good idea?".

Let the winner be 12th man in a kent cup game, sit on bench lead team out, warm up... NOT play.

Let them have their photo with squad in kit, hang it in bar. List them in programe line ups in a footer as wellings 12 man for home games like you wiould list a match ball sponsor.

Dont list them in away programmes other than kent cup

It was never suggested anywhere that they would play , no problem leaving it on squad list for home games

I think it's a great idea. Paul, as always, coming up with innovative solutions to raising money and getting more publicity for the club.

I was just saying, that involve them as much as possible in county cup match. Never thought for once second they would play, unless i won it and i could just come on and beat 8 players and get a late equaliser in the super sub mode away at princes park and do a knee slide at their end

I think it's a good idea. Can't really compare it to Kidderminster Harriers as this incentive is £19,990 cheaper....

I had to laugh when I read Shuttle's comment. Does he know me? I will be 50 on 5th April 2014 and, although I know everyone will rush to say otherwise, could do with losing a few pounds. Maybe if I win I can do laps while the players train to get me back in shape!
