I was impressed with the Radio Cambridgeshire commentators - despite saying that 'It's the kind of ground you go to for a pre-season friendly' and 'their PA system appears to be made of a piece of string and two baked bean tins' - they were most impressed with us. Excellent commentary, too. The main man used words like 'phalanx' and 'pluperfect'. He reminded me very strongly of a young Jonathan Pearce.
1,010 with 400 travelling fans. It was wet, and they also had England v Scotland on the TV, but nevertheless disappointing, for our first home game back in the Conference.
Im really pleased that Jamie and the squad got something out of the game tonight. The effort that they`ve put in over the last two games deserves a reward. Well done boys! Judging by what we`ve seen so far we dont need to fear anyone.
Maybe. I was kind of hoping that people would want to watch us v Cambridge. My prediction would have been 1200, but I was way off, which I normally am.
A very entertaining/nerve-racking game that could have easily gone either way. Some of their midfielders had a lot of pace which caused us problems.
Fraser made some fantastic challenges but Clarkie was my MOTM. Looks the fittest I've seen him (in the cardiovascular sense of the word, not the attraction sense, sorry Clarkie) - even Muzza would have praised his performance (maybe). Fantastic turn and shot for his goal.
1010 not bad for a wet Wednesday with the England game on but I'm sure we'll get 1500+ on Saturday.
PS, we had a singsong of "He's here, he's there, he's everyf***ingwhere, Gallllaaggghhheeerrrr" in the second half at the request of his Dad. I think it's fair to say Jake isn't too keen on "Jake Gallagher, Baby!"
Played well tonight when Cambridge scored. If we can beat Grimsby it will have been a very decent start from 3 tough games. We have proved we deserve to be in this league and can more than match some established teams at this level. We just need to keep believing and keep the standards up. Thought Fraser and Clarkie were very good tonight and thats harsh on the rest of them who all did well.

Must not back off and let players run at us. Played best immediately after going behind. Crucial not to have lost. All in all a good game. Behind the scenes organisation needs to match on pitch efforts.
Great performance last night. Showed we are not in this league just to make up the numbers and are capable of giving any team a good game. Though Clarke had a great game and scored a superb goal but man of the match for me was Fraser Franks, always solid and his last ditch tackle near the end would have made the highlights in the premier league let alone this level.
Bring on Grimsby!

Spot on. Too pedestrian on going behind and went ahead when we raised the pace. Great to get first point on the board although late oppo subs are costing us. Fraser Franks has been immense over two games. Hope off the field improves on Saturday. Bring on the codheads.
Anyone thinking 1010 is not a decent crowd on a rainy night with England V Scotland on the box needs to have a word with themselves, take the 350-400 ish that Cambridge brought (and their fans were decent on the whole except the loon who threw a bin) and its still a decent turn out. Last season that would have been 450 ish crowd and 12 away fans on a wet night with a big game on the box, we need to see the glass half full sometimes.
We wont turn 675 averages into 1500 just on our own over night, they will rise when word spreads of performances and decent football being played.

Thats only good for us as brings more money in and creates a good atmosphere for the players. All we can do is spread the word to friends and family, try and bring a new person along and tweet and post on facebook of the good time you had.
Things will not change drastically overnight but its a great chance to spread the word. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two games, every team has had quality and played some great stuff and the games have been entertaining. There arent many who would say no to that if they know its happening on their doorstep.

Totally agree JGFC. A crowd of over 1,000 last night with the weather and England being on was pleasing to see. Last year when we had the likes of Boreham Wood visiting i think we got less than 500.
Any floating fans last night should have been impressed by the football on show and will hopefully return to PVR in the near future.

It will be like that for quite a few home games so we need to be loud and proud!!
It is bringing the pennies in....there should be a few more than that on Saturday I would guess...they brought a few to the Trophy game and I would guess they will bring more for the league game

Totally agree. I thought that was a great crowd for a Tuesday. The idea that people will be flocking in this year is, in my opinion, a bit misconceived. I was expecting 800 tops last night so thought 1000 was excellent. The atmosphere it creates was brilliant. We've played better than I expected for the first two games bearing in mind the quality of the opposition - I think we need a degree of realism but if we can maintain that level of performance and players return from injury then I think we could be in for a pretty decent season.
