I've recently moved to Bexleyheath and I am a great believer in supporting your local team so, as PVR appears to be my closest ground, I will be making my first visit there tomorrow evening for the match against Cambridge.
In advance of my my first visit, I was hoping someone could answer a few questions for me:
1. Do supporters meet for a drink at a local pub prior to the game (and if so what pubs are recommended) or do the majority just go to the bar inside the ground?
2. What time should I aim to get there for a 7:45 ko?
3. What area of the ground should I stand/sit to get the best atmosphere?
1 - On a Saturday supporters normally meet at the Nags Head. With tomorrow being an evening match, it's generally in the club bar.
2 - Depends if you want to have a drink, find out more information about WUSA etc!
3 - Again up to you, but if standing a lot of people stand beind the goal that Welling are shooting at,
4 - WUSA is the Welling United Supporters Association. It's open to all supporters and offers fans a greater say on club matters. We also run social events, the club shop, coaches to away games and administarte schemes that boost the playing budget. I will be at the WUSA desk which is just ouside the club shop from around 7pm tomorrow if you want like any further information

Had a tough decision to make between going to a pub and watching NI getting hammered by Russia with the London NI Supporters Club or my first match at PVR.
The lure of live football and a short journey home afterwards won over.
I'm also pretty close to the Robin Hood and Little John so might check it out for future pre-match drinks.
Well once you have experienced Welling United you will be addicted!!...Welcome...If you are therte on Saturday come to the WUSA desk and ask for Mark X

IT'S TIME TO STAND UP TO THE PLATE, IT'S TIME TO BECOME LEGENDS
Just thought I would post my comments on my first (and certainly not last) visit to PVR.
A really enjoyable evening with a higher standard of football than I expected. Thought the back 4 looked good. The 2 centre half's are strong and thought Franks had a superb game, winning some excellent tackles. The wee right back certainly is busy and his effort was admirable. I loved the fact he challenged for so many headers that he had no chance of winning but time and time again did enough to put his opponent off.
The midfield worked hard, in particular Clarke but felt they looked tired second half. Not surprising after their weekend exertions in Wales. Guthrie put in a shift but flattered to deceive going forward. Hopefully he will get more success against weaker opponents.
As for the big lad up front.... Cracker player. A real handful and I'm sure he will score a lot of goals this season.
I wonder how my first impressions will change as the season progresses??
I've now also signed up for WUSA and really looking forward to my next visit to PVR.
. P. S.. My night was made all the better to come home to watch my wee country beat Russia..
Kurtis was probably guilty of overplaying a few times, but he's only 20 and its good to see him have the confidence to take players on. Last season those jinking runs were leaving defenders with twisted blood, but he'll have to get used to the fact our opponents this year are of a different calibre so they might not work quite so often. Technically he's excellent and as you say, he works hard. He'll be a very very good player before too long.
Roscoe really is our focal point in attack. I pray he doesn't get quite so many bookings this year as we really can't afford to have him suspended. The one thing he probably lacks as a striker is clinical finishing (although that header wasn't too shabby and he has scored some crackers!), but his strength, pace, work rate and link-up play are all top notch.
