We need to take the positives from our first two games into the Grimsby match. When we've gone forward we have really rattled teams and our passing and movement has been excellent. It's only been when we've sat back a bit that clubs really attack us and cause problems - and it takes far less time now for clubs to go on the offensive.
Dyer was excellent second half, really bright and kept us going. Ref was OK.. but Fraser got barged and he did nothing, then Fraser barges back and he gives a free kick. Both free kicks or neither are. be consistent.

Two Grimsby players got booked as part of that. Gallagher was involved but didn't get a yellow - just as well as he's already been booked.
I think the wrong players were booked there. Be interesting to see the video later...
Ref awful.
Yeehaa! After a rubbish afternoon at work and missing the game, that score line has put a massive smile back on my face. The confidence this will have instilled in the lads is much bigger than the three points gained. Let's not get complacent though.
I wondered why our boys (and girls) in blue were running to the ground. One stupid idiot spoils it all when the rest of the Grimsby supporters were a really great bunch.
Good gutsy performance today and I would have said MOTM was either Franks or Hudson who both gave their all.
We've played 3 top teams so far and haven't looked out of our depth. Long may it continue.
Listened to the match via BBC Humberside. By all accounts a really lousy match, but I don't care. We scrapped it out against a big-ish team and came out with a win. Onwards and upwards!
We weren't at our best but did enough and deserved it. Their sole tactic seemed to be for McDonald to hoof the ball forward as far as possible. The likes of Cambridge and Wrexham will turn them over if they keep playing like that
Bergqvist was superb, definitely man of the match for me. Let nothing go through him and looked dangerous going forward. Says it all that we didn't miss Faz today. Gives us the option of moving Faz further forward in certain matches possibly
Thought the referee was one of the worst I've ever seen at PVR, and that really is something. Was clueless and certainly favoured them, the number of times they were going through our players in the second half and not getting booked. All that after Jake got a yellow for his first tackle of the match.
Hopefully their fan who put his fist through the dressing room window gets what he deserves
Good day as Moo got in and got us Harry Beautyman's home shirt sponsorship for the season for Fantasy Wings so we are sponsoring Loick and Harry for 2013-14.

Good crowd today?
same for me , what a good result, something to build on.COYW
Dont how their 14 hasn't been sent off ,looked to have had both hands round Doug's throat. Jake Gallagher then gets thrown/pushed over and both of the Town players were booked which is probably a result as both are probably straight reds. Agree with Moo, Doug very harsh to be booked for being strangled.

Great result today if not a great game. The one disappointment for me was the attendance of 807. Bearing in mind the terrific game we saw on Wednesday , the number of Grimsby fans present and the fact that Charlton were playing in Yorkshire, I would have expected a crowd of around 1200. Must be a concern for the club, about 500 home fans is not enough at this level particularly for a Saturday game.

Wednesday's game had 400 Cambridge fans whereas today Grimsby only had about 200. I couldn't believe it as I thought they would bring 500 or so. I don't know whether that's down to their style of football, or the fact the Premier League started again today.
That means approximately 600 Wings have made it to both games. That's just where we're at at the moment. It's the one pathetic crumb of comfort that rival fans will take when they want to abuse "little Welling" about something, because you certainly can't fault what's happening on the pitch.
Daisy is working miracles as usual and it's an exciting time to be a Welling fan. Paul White and others have done phenomenal work, but changes have to be made by those at the top if we're going to see off-field improvements to match our on-field performances.
Let's ignore that for now though and enjoy what is an absolutely fantastic result, and a great start to the season. Awooga!
Well done the WINGS! Really enjoyed my day, beginning to get my old passion for football back (7 years in the wilderness after following Orient for god knows how long) & i think thats due to the friendly home fans & the teams never say die attitude so Thanks for that
