It's great we get more coverage like the link below, but all the reports and interviews seem very one sided. I haven't seen anything from Jamie Day yet, and all the bullet point style match reports are only ever commenting from the oppositions viewpoint.

It's because information and interviews have been taken from Radio Wales, Radio Cambridgeshire, Radio Humberside etc.

For much documented reasons we don't get BBC radio coverage so no informatiom from our side is transferred over to the reports.

Yes now its not so much as BBC Kent dont think we exist, its the whole of the BBC. We are only there as we are playing other teams covered by their local station. You would have thought that someone at the BBC would say while you are there get an interview from Jamie Day... they cant even be bothered to do that.

Shambles.

We don't even have a club crest on the BBC site. Regarding this and the biased coverage it might be worth sending them an email, as I doubt the BBC read this forum.

We arent missing anything from BBC Radio Shyte of Medway but the coverage from the BBC is laughable. Why put up interviews and reports on a teams page when it is focuses on the opposition.

Its worth everybody filling in the complaint page above.

1 BBC Radio Kent and Londons problem of not covering us is not our problem where they want to place us but as licence payers our residents and supporters deserve equal coverage.
2 To not get any stories or interviews from a Welling perspective is a farce and makes their Welling United page a waste of space.
3 They should have sourced a club badge, google is their friend.
4 The BBC use ISDN at Park View Road, which was always one of their reasons for not covering us... That was proved to be a load of tosh as with ISDN now in, Radio Kent or Radio London havent been near the place on a match day.
5 We arent interested in the BBC internal politics, the situation is there for all to see, we get no coverage on BBC Local radio from our perspective and we get the same on a webpage thats supposed to be about us, not what the oppo manager wants to cry about.

Alan Alger migh tbe worth contacting as the sponsors media rep. Its simple Welling arent being covered by the BBC due to THEIR failure to take ownership of us in Kent or London.

Radio coverage is one of the best free advertising tools to advertise our club, we are now in the conference & have earned the right to be covered, who by is down to the BBC although of course it has always traditionally been by Kent, I think BBC London will be down for non league day with no premier league, but I fill strongly that if this isn't sorted by Dartford at home then BBC Kent should be refused permission to cover the Kent derby

May I suggest WUSA actually propose this to the owners? We've been threatening it on here for a couple of years, but have continually given them access. In that time nothing has changed, nor will it unless the club actually make a stand.

Radio coverage is, of course, a huge benefit. But only when we're covered fairly and impartially rather than just because we're playing a big side or one of Matt Davison's beloved teams.

Welling banned BBC Kent a number of years ago when BBC Kent suddenly stopped covering us, only for BBC Kent to back down a number of years later, I think a lot of this is to do with cost cutting at the BBC, but that of course is not our problem as a conference premier club we have earned the right to be covered.

As they say (whoever they are) no publicity is bad publicity. Ban Radio Kent and the ban will possibly get picked up by local/national news organisations like ITV, Sky etc

How can a neutral, like the BBC, constantly have match reports involving two teams that only feature interviews from one team. Sort it out BBC!

The simple fact is that as a whole organisation the BBC is neutral but at this level they have to rely on the local reporters to get interviews with managers. And because local news has to be biased towards the local side (who would tune into hear commentary and interviews geared towards the opposition) all the interviews will be with their managers and not Jamie. Barnet are suffering exactly same.

The only way we'll get any sort of coverage is if someone orders Radio Kent to cover us because BBC London definitely won't.

Dear Ian of BBC Wiltshire please tell your collegues in either BBC London (who mentioned Barnet on Saturday) or BBC Kent who cover Rugby in SE3 and Football in SE7 that Welling United exist and deserve a mention on our local radio stations.

Thank you

Reason for my post is following taken from Salisbury City Forum

There'll be live reports along with interviews with Mikey & players on BBC Wiltshire from 2pm.

Does Meridian still cover us?  Incidentally, the coverage of our matches against Truro by BBC Cornwall was superb (and BBC Wiltshire when we played Salisbury was damn good too).  Let's make a plea for BBC Cornwall and Wiltshire to cover our matches, and put BBC Radio Kent to shame!  Also, BBC Kent should realise that a lot of Wings' supporters live deep in the administrative County - in my case East Kent - as opposed to the London-occupied bit.

Oooh, and has anybody told Radio Kent that, technically, the Medway towns are not in the administrative County as they are covered by their own unitary local authority (enjoying the same status as Bexley, Bromley and, for that matter, Greenwich).  I guess, logically, they should stop covering Gillingham and Charlton.

The media as a whole seem to dislike Welling, no games on BT Sport, disregarded by the national press and looked down on by so called big clubs. People should remember this if a big game comes along BBC Radio Kent will be all over Welling but should be told where to go. Why no coverage on BBC London, we are in the London Borough of Bexley after all.

Driving back from Woking we listened to Radio London and they mentioned the Barnet score twice but no Welling score. I have complained to them saying if they mention one Conference Premier team in an outer London Borough they should mention the other.

Radio Kent begrudgingly mentioned us today

But mentioning us isn't good enough, BBC Kent still mention us with score updates far more then London, but that isn't good enough, we want reporters at games covering matches, news of signings etc, interviews with Jamie etc, Kent was still doing interviews with him, up until about Christmas but that seems to have stopped, although I hardly listen to it now through lack of interest.
